"This place eeks out a 3 based on their beans. They are by far the best thing on the menu. Therir ribs are cooked in an oven, so if you like oven cooked ribs then these are good. If you like hardwood smoked ribs these are not. The sausage, which is extremely expensive is Eckridge or an Eckridge knock off. Do not get the sausage You will be highly disappointed. The brisket was tender but slightly dried out, and not smoked properly. There may have been a 16th of an inch smoke ring on the brisket which indicates it was cooked at too high a temperature and not smoked low and slow. The corn nuggets, which from pictures on the internet look great, are essentially bowling alley quality snack food. This place will only rank a 3 in Florida. If this place was in Texas, lol wait, this place would never make it in Texas."

"Chose this place because of high ratings and location. Ordered beef brisket with baked beans, pulled pork sandwich and ribs. Pictured are the first two entrees. Overall food was dry and not seasoned well. Beef brisket was dry and lacked flavor. Potato was overcooked. Baked beans were too sweet. Pulled pork was dry and tasteless. Coleslaw was watery and lacked flavor. The food was for takeout and came with many sauces for us to add ourselves at home. Overall very disappointed. We went right before closing so maybe food would have been better earlier in day."

"Updated: 08/30/23 Hell ya let’s go. Got the wagon for lunch and shared w/ coworkers and it was great. BBQ on point. Flavor on point. Great experience. For sure going to eat again. Wrote: Approx 1 year prior. Options for BBQ are somewhat limited in South Florida but this place is good. Food was tasty, and enjoyable. They offered options on the brisket whether you want lean, regular, or fatty which was a first but definitely appreciated. Service was good. Inside smells wonderful. Would put 5 stars but was a little pricey for the amount you get. Will come back though for sure. Recommend the baked beans. They did have a good deal on a rib special which was definitely the way to go but my heart belongs to brisket."

"I was heading home from Flamingo Gardens and decided to stop here to grab some dinner to take home. Rob's Family BBQ is owned by Rob Scruby and his wife Mary. Rob has an extensive BBQ pedigree having run Woody's and Sonny's BBQ franchises all over South Florida for decades and formerly owning Scrubby's BBQ on University Drive in Pembroke Pines. This is the 8,300 square foot flagship restaurant on State Rd 84 but they have another much smaller location on Nob Hill in Plantation. I love the kitschy dining room. It has all kinds of vintage signs, murals, and knick knacks. The theme goes perfectly with Davie's western vibe. They have a dedicated take out area with a counter and stools which was perfect for me. The menu offers appetizers, BBQ classics, rib dinners, seafood, family dinners, and steak. They also have wine by the glass. I ordered the family rib feast for two which was a massive amount of food. It included two full racks of seasoned and smoked ribs, beans, coleslaw, garlic toast, a loaded baked potato, and a sweet potato. They had everything ready to go for me in less than 10 minutes from the time I ordered. I want to give a shoutout to the young man and woman working the takeout counter Saturday night. They were so sweet and courteous and on top of things. It was really refreshing to see them at work. The smell in the car on the ride home was intoxicating and I couldn't wait to unpack the feast. All of the food was delicious. I had so many ribs that there were actually leftovers which is unheard of in my house. The sides were all on point too. The made from scratch coleslaw and baked beans were great. I really appreciated that they included everything I could need. I had extra barbecue sauce which is made from their own recipe, sour cream and butter, and an amazing cinnamon butter for the sweet potato. This was an outstanding take out experience from Rob's and next time I'll try dining in for one of their daily specials and house made desserts."
