"Mother in law had a stroke. Somehow, security allowed a woman in who claimed she was a hospice worker, and she was denying treatment to my mother so she could "die with dignity" , and the doctor (on a telehealth screen) was agreeing with her. Thankfully, I got there in time to authorize treatment and save her. Security Guard Covin, a rent a cop wanna be tough guy, then tried to deny access to two disabled people (her husband and daughter) trying to visit her. Some distraction on my part got them right in. Security there is a joke. No wonder somebody fired a gun in this hospital, as Security can be bypassed so easily, but no one can keep track of "hospice" workers who fly in and out."

"I spent 9 days in Halifax with my 88 year old mother. The nurses were fantastic and every person that we interacted with provided exceptional care and service. So with such wonderful care, the only reason I gave 4 stars is the recliner provided in the CIC. It was the most disgusting chair, worn, dirty with a large indent from previous “butts”. It was so bad, I put 2 blankets folded into the indentation and it was still uncomfortable. The furniture in the France Tower was comfortable and clean. You would think the Cardiac. Unit would have nicer furniture."

"I just wanted to take a moment to say what great quality of care was received from the interns and the nurses at this facility. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that level of nursing I have hope now! All the local private hospitals need to seriously start taking notes! Least amount of resources and most efficient care team! This hospital deserves all the new toys and technology it would be great if there could be a fundraiser for this teaching hospital! Thank you for the fantastic care that you provided for my father this past week. I can’t say thank you enough."

"My Dad was transported from Parrish in Titusville and taken for Neuro at Halifax DB. ER nurse (Arianna) and general surgeon were prompt, professional and answered our questions beautifully! ICU received him later that morning where he was cared for by Nurse Lauren and a gentleman by the name of Nathan. They were equally excellent and before I could ask about hygiene, nutrition or bedside hospitality, they were on it! Neuro surgery took place within 24 hours after imaging, blood work, all of which was communicated perfectly. Neuro surgeon had him in and out of surgery in 4 hours!hours!! Excellent Healthcare , treatment and D/C with follow up executed the way above average Healthcare should be. They set a new standard! Thank you for saving my dad's life!"
