"Honestly, this entire school system is unorganized from the teachers to the office staff. It shouldn’t be this much chaos with well over 2000 students. Staff doesn’t take the necessary time to explain things the correct way, the overall office is just unorganized and bogus. We all speak well over 83 different languages yet the office staff only speaks Spanish. So good luck to anyone who doesn’t necessarily understand strong accents under mask. The staff have had wayyyy more than enough time to prepare for these students. Yet, we’re 2 weeks in and they still don’t have a clue as to what’s going on. This type of system is bound to cause ptsd in new students who don’t have a clue how the American school system works. I’m from America and I’ve never dealt with such dysfunction in the school system. Also, the lady at the front at the desk is simply in the way. You can position her somewhere else to check ID’s. Also, if you’re going to leave her there, at least educate her so she knows what’s going on."

"The school is okay. Students are okay, teachers are fine, bathrooms are not clean, and lunch is not the best (sometimes bad)"

"Good school, although one teacher is particularly terrible when it comes to grading assignments. Also the lunch is rarely good, most of the time it's cold rice with beans that taste like garbage."

"Now that I have moved on to high school I have realized how much I took AVentura Waterways Preparatory Academy (AWPA) for granted. This school has given me numerous amounts of opportunities that I will take on to cherish for the rest of my life. For example, this school offers clubs such as, Model United Nations, Yearbook Club, etc. This school also consists of National Junior Honors Society and competitions such as the Heritage Bowl. Along with these great experiences, the school offers real world scenarios to prepare the pupils of our future. I was in 8th grade last year, in my World History Class, we took a course called Everfi that taught students everything they needed to know about financial literacy. Additionally, AWPA offers and encourages students to take an elective where you can help out in the Office (Office Aide). Moreover, students are exposed to different academies which is by far an experience that I recommend. They offer, The International Finance Academy(which I was in) and Science Technology Art Mathematics, A.K.A STEAM. Being in the academy, I was granted opportunities to go on amazing field trips which consisted of Chicago, San Francisco Boston, and many more. The academy also gave me friends that to this day I consider my siblings. We all learnt the importance of cooperating and respecting each other. Furthermore, AWPA has some of the best teachers that I owe all my knowledge too. This includes the world history/ IFA teacher, the geometry teacher, all the language arts teachers, the Biology teacher, the Physical Science teacher, the civics teacher, and many more! I still consider this school a place where I belong, and if any teacher or administrators read this I would like them to know that when people ask me what school I go too I still refer to this school as MY school. I absolutely love this school and everyone has made me feel extremely welcomed and in a position where I belonged. For any parent debating wether or not to place their child in this school, I 10/10 recommend AWPA!"

"My problem with the school is that the just don’t listen. I have been trying to switch my schedule since September and they haven’t even tried too. Now i’m in Orchestra and I hate it. The bathrooms smell horrible to the point where it will make you gag. At least it gives you an education in the slightest."
