"My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening for an early dinner. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of our female server, but I want to share that she was professional, attentive, and welcoming. The food quality was amazing – not too overly seasoned as some Latin restaurants can overdo. We ate outside and sat at a small table (perfect for 2-4 people) with lighting that can be controlled by the guest. We will definitely return!"

"A decent family stye restaurant. The food allowed itself to be eaten, I didn't have anything that stood out to be more than average. The coffee was good though."

"Absolutely incredible. What a fantastic meal. The best food I had in Miami. My wife says the rice and beans are better than her family makes back in Brazil, the best she's had in years, so you know that was hard to admit. I had some roasted pork ribs with marinara sauce (kind of, but sweeter and brighter) served atop some green (onion I think) risotto. The dish was so delicious. This place was recommended by our airboat driver guide who apparently used to work here. Spot on. The atmosphere is old school cool, with painted murals, jazz music, and white table cloths. A classy joint. It will be helpful if you have someone in your party who speaks Spanish, because I don't think anyone who works there could (perhaps they just didn't offer). But don't let this scare you off. The menu has English descriptions. You have a smart phone. You'll be fine. Just go. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Miami."

"During my recent visit to Islas Canarias Restaurant in Miami, I had a series of mixed feelings about the experience. On one hand, I was delighted to find that their croquettes de jamón (ham croquettes) have maintained their excellent taste over the years. These little delights are as amazing as ever, providing a comforting sense of consistency and quality. However, the main courses we ordered were somewhat disappointing. My Vaca frita, although flavorful, turned out to be tough and not as tender as I had hoped. It seemed overcooked, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Similarly, my wife’s fish, specifically kingfish, was unfortunately old and hard. This was quite surprising as kingfish, known for its soft texture and subtle flavors, didn't live up to our expectations or its usual culinary standards. That said, the other items we tried were pleasant, which somewhat balanced out our dining experience. But it's undeniable that the main courses, crucial to any meal, were a letdown. I sincerely hope Islas Canarias takes this feedback into account. An improvement in the preparation of their main dishes could significantly enhance the dining experience, aligning it with the high standards set by their renowned croquettes."
