"There’s a reason why reservations are always available for Kona Cafe… Needed a last minute dinner reservation and saw that Kona Cafe had plenty of available times, so we decided to give it a try. My last visit to Kona was about 7-8 years ago and I remembered it being an OK option. Started with a sushi roll for an appetizer. It was fine, at best. Nothing extraordinary about it other than the price - $28 for 6 small pieces was certainly not worth the cost. For entree’s we had the salmon and poke bowl. The salmon, again, was fine. It was nothing special or memorable; I would not order again. The poke bowl was approximately 8 ounces (mostly rice) and chopped up fish. This was the most memorable dish of the night; however, memorable for the wrong reasons. The poke bowl was one of the worst meals I’ve had in 2023 and easily the worst poke dishes I’ve ever had. The fish didn’t taste fresh and there was nothing positive to write about this meal. Service-wise, we were somewhat rushed. I’ve noticed when I don’t order alcoholic drinks, the wait staff tends to rush you through the meal so they can flip the table to another party. The server wasn’t particularly friendly or knowledgeable about the menu, but the overall quality of Disney’s cast members has also diminished over the past few years, so this has unfortunately been an expected and recurring theme on Disney property. In the end, there’s an obvious reason why there’s always reservations available at Kona Cafe… and the simple answer is that it is not a good restaurant. I have no plans to return and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant."

"Very lovely Breakfast experience at this location! They had a good variety of gluten free options for my husband and were very accommodating. The food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. The resort security did check my ID and my reservation before they allowed me on the property, just as an FYI. The parking lot was pretty full but I was able to find a space. I had the nut pancakes and the description says it comes with pineapple sauce, but they arrived with pineapple chunks as a topping. I just scraped it off - not a big deal, but the descriptions might not be super accurate."
