Island Village Montessori School

"Most of this school has great and loving teachers and staff, However!!!! I am picking out one teacher that has performed HORRIBLY. Mr. Mark, the middle school math teacher is by far the WORST teacher I have ever dealt with. 2 years of my son not understanding anything. Apparently he spends A LOT of time on his cell phone throughout the class periods and has minimal interaction with the kids. My son requested help times and would not get it. Several other parents also told me they could not get any help from him. So other than the one teacher it is incredibly incompetent the rest of the teachers and staff do a great job!"

"We left. Both of my children were subjected to violence, poorly trained teachers and staff that either couldn't or wouldn't handle issues. They talk to you, but it doesn't change. My son was held down and choked by another student FOUR hours after a conference asking the school to protect my son from the known violent kid that choked him. The school did nothing. I see someone else mentioned a choking, and I wonder if it's the same kid, it could be. The school did absolutely nothing to stop repeated aggressive and violent behavoirs. The safest person in this school is the out of control bully. I didn't feel this environment was safe or stable. the teachers yelled and screamed and cried. One lost her temper and flipped a desk in front of students, my child included. I was incredibly disappointed with not only the dangers here, but the excuses. I thought I was putting my children someplace special and they would be more secure and get a better education. I was wrong across the board. If you're reading this, like me you'll think it's just one bad review, a parent with a problem. I was warned about this school too but discounted the warnings thinking that surely they had addressed or fixed those issues. They haven't. Good luck."

"Bright school. Truly caring, active staff. My kids are good friends with every one in their LE, they appreciate the serene atmosphere of their class. I highly recommend this Montessori school."
