"I recently visited the SS location and was disappointed in the portion size of the oxtails. Normally there are no complaints but over the last 3 or 4 times the portion sizes changed. Today was the last straw. I got three tails, all of which were med-small, fatty. Normally the server would add a little shredded meat to make it worth the price but the last few times it was sparse and not worth $24.99. I asked the server because I felt shorted and she said it was portion size. The attendant at the register tried to make it right but I just took what she replaced and took the loss. I love the restaurant and have been many many times but this was the last time that I'll take a chance with the Oxtails, especially at that price vs portion."

"First and last time. Just because of the experience. The food was ok, I've never been somewhere that charges for gravy, especially on oxtails. NO KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. We stood at the door for five minutes before deciding to join the line on the wall, no greeting, not one person to make you feel welcome. No one was wearing hair nets or beard guards, I was charged for drinks after saying I didn't want any. Seeing as how this place is supposed to be run by church folks, it's not welcoming in the least! For an update, I forgot to do this for obvious reasons. I awoke the next morning sick to my stomach. I vomited several times that day and couldn't eat anything but Gatorade and broth for a couple of days."

"It’s a 4.5 for me. Be prepared to stand in line if you go on a Sunday. That’s when I went and I was there waiting to get to the front for about an hour, and it wasn’t packed. It’s cafeteria style, and they have inside seating. I had the fish and shrimp dinner with mac n cheese, greens, cornbread, and sweet tea. I also got a slice of pound cake. Everything was great, except for the greens. They didn’t really have much of a taste to me."

"I had the fried dark meat chicken which was a huge portion and great flavor. My sides were macaroni and cheese, it was pretty good and very cheesy. My other side was collard greens which were okay, not a whole lot of flavor in my opinion. Each dinner comes with a piece of cornbread which was burnt and had no flavor at all. I wanted to try the oxtails but they were a bit expensive. The smothered pork chops looked really good though too! The restaurant was packed and staff was very friendly! Looked like the could've used some more help though. The dining room was super dark and a bit out dated."
