"**Edit 04/10/2023 after owner response: We were very clear that we were moving a heavy safe (by providing the safe name, model number, and weight) during our initial quote request, which is why we agreed in advance to pay for an extra mover. The extra $150 charge was not mentioned until after the move was complete** **Initial Review 11/07/2021: Excellent moving crew; the one star rating is due to the owner sending a smaller crew than we were charged for plus charging an extra $150 over the quoted price after the work was done. We needed a heavy (~760 lbs) safe plus appliances moved, so I called The Moving Truck with the safe weight and a rough inventory of our items. We agreed on a price of $150/hour for a four-man crew with a minimum charge of four hours time, for a total of $600. What the owner sent was a three-man crew, so we ended up having to help with the move ourselves. Once the work was completed (well within four hours, again a credit to the crew members who performed the work), the owner charged an extra $150 for the safe that he had not mentioned during our initial setup call. We had spent a great deal of time talking about the safe during the initial call due to its weight, giving him ample opportunity to mention this charge before the move. For anyone reading this, please learn from our mistakes when working with The Moving Truck. Be very clear on all charges and their costs before agreeing to work with them. To be safe, request a written estimate with all these charges before starting the work. Moving is hectic enough without feeling that you are being taken advantage of during the process."

"If I could give this company a negative review, I would. I wish I had read the reviews prior to booking their services; however, my coworker recommended them, and value his insight. We scheduled the move months in advance, and were informed that our move would take place with the company on requested date starting between 9 and 10a. The day prior to the move, the owner called me to say that they would not be able to arrive prior to 1p, and if that was a problem then they could change the date to Sunday. I said that Friday at that time was fine, and that I appreciated the call. By that Friday at 140p, no one had showed or called,so I called them. No one answered. By 4p, I called SEVEN times. No one answered, showed up, or returned my calls. Out of desperation, I called ASAP moving company in Dothan. That company was able to schedule us for the following Wednesday and said that I’d be surprised how many times someone called them due to same issue with The Moving Truck. I will be posting a review on their page once services are completed, but I was assured that they would show up and on time, and the day prior to Thanksgiving nonetheless! Regarding this company, I took time off from work when we were already short staffed only for them to no call, no show. Very disappointing and unprofessional!"
