Kim's Boot & Shoe Repair

"Update 01/02/2024 Read their response under. They state my wife was told about the boots. First, the boots were brought to the store to get new heel tabs; not to get any other repairs as the boots were in good conditions when we dropped them off. Again, even the employee mentioned how good they were. Employee who told them the true in front of us and Mrs. Kim did not like that and kicked her out of the conversation. "Conversation for us, more like an argument from the owners. Second, if you read their response, clearly you can see how disrespectful these owners are. Not just laughed at my wife in front of me, now they are calling her a liar. I was there with her when the boots were dropped off and picked up. Very disrespectful!!! Period!!! Our point proved!!! Original Review, Staff at this place is amazing! But when it comes to the owners, they are so disrespectful. My wife took an old pair of boots to get new heel tips. Boots were synthetic leather (plastic), but were in great conditions. No peals, no scratches! Even the employee that took the order mentioned how in good condition they were. My wife asked if they could replace the tips. The employee took the boots to the back of the store to consult and came back saying they could do the job but will take a couple of days. When we went back to pick up the boots as she got the message they were ready, they were in a paper bag. My wife thinking they were good, did not open the bag until we were in the vehicle ready to leave. We were in shock when we saw them. They looked like if a cat got a hold of them. All scratched and peeled. So we went back inside to the store to complain about it and the owners started to act defensively. Mentioning the material of the boots weren't leather and that it was a common issue for the synthetic material to peel off. A few times we were trying to explain that the boots weren't in that condition when we dropped them off for repair. But they kept smiling saying that it was normal for those boots to peel off. Over and over. At some point, the owner(male) I don't know his name, he laughed out loud like he was mocking my wife. Trust me, all I wanted was to slap him. But, it would have got me in trouble, and I am pretty sure he wouldn't have learned that what they they were doing was wrong. So I decided to write this review instead so people are aware of. I understand the boots were old and that at some point they were going to start showing their use. But if they started to peel off when he was working on them, the best thing was to stop and notify us the boots were going bad and that it was not worth to repair them and return the money. But no, they "did the repair", put them in a paper bag and got the money. For me, they look like they were dragged through the store and crumbled them before they were given back to us. See pictures! My point is, they could've acknowledged their mistake, apologize and return the money. No, it is not about the money or the boots, it is about the disrespect from the owners on how they handle the situation and how they laughed at us."

"Mrs Kim and her husband were very rude this evening following me and my partner around the store trying to rush us because they "close in 15 minutes". I was approached 3 times in a 5 minute period telling me this. They didn't bother following the other customers around in the store and telling them they closed soon. As I was leaving because I felt uncomfortable and rushed Mrs Kim's husband wanted to raise his voice and was yelling for me to come back tomorrow. NOT HAPPENING EVER. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere. As I was in my car leaving, two more people walked in, and they did not come out immediately. There money must be more important than mine."

"Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I tried on several different brands of work boots to find the best fit and was led pretty quickly to a brand I had no prior experience with that fit a little wider and have quite the comfortable insoles. Made the purchase and have been very satisfied with the overall comfort. So much so, that I've been wearing them around the house and when going out, even over my usual running shoes that cost more than the boots. That said, I didn't mention the price yet. Well, these ran about $50 less than the boots that have been killing my feet for the past year and about $100 less than I anticipated finding a good, comfortable work boot for. If you're looking for friendly, knowledgeable staff and boots that just work, Kim's just went to the top of my list and these Dunham boots just might fit the bill for you too. I walk several miles per day on average and squatting low to work on doors is a part of my job. I needed flexibility and comfort at an affordable price. These keep me moving all day and even seem to have reduced my knee and back pain considerably. It's a win."
