"I’ve been eating her for forty-plus years. Today is the day I officially call it quits. It has been gradually going downhill since Mr. Mark sold it and today it reached bottom in my opinion. They have very rude and unprofessional employees. I ordered lunch today and also ordered a pineapple milkshake. The employee exhaled very loudly like I was inconveniencing her by ordering a pineapple milkshake. I hate to tell y’all, but I do not have to spend my money here. The prices also don’t reflect the quality. I don’t know if the recipes are different or if they’ve modified them to make more profit, but it isn’t near as good as when Mr. Mark owned it. Thanks to your employees and your money-hungry ways, you’ve lost a long time customer."

"Ate here for the first time when I was in high school in 1990. Have loved it ever since. Sweet (not spicy) chili dogs, excellent burgers and chicken sandwiches. Wife likes the milkshakes. Would be nice if the picnic tables were washed off once in a while…. My only gripe. Can’t help the weather and for some reason the wind blows more here than anywhere else in Georgia. Great local place to eat."

"Monday September-25-2023 14:59 I personally wasn't a fan. I don't understand the hype at all. The food is mediocre. Personally I think the place should be shut down. I've had better food from McDonald's of all places. The workers are lazy, and have bad attitudes. They walk around the establishment pretending to be busy. I literally watched the three workers stare at a customer coming through the drive through. The customer ended up driving off. The building is dilapidated, it almost looks abandoned. There were burnt black bits in my fries. The fries have zero flavor. The portions are incredibly small. Their ice cream machine was "broken". I personally think the workers were just being lazy, and didn't want to make it. There was only a tiny menu sign at the drive through window. The hamburger had zero flavor. The tomato on the burger was squishy. The lettuce on the burger was wilted. The hamburger patties were very small and flavorless. Not a hint of seasoning on anything. My husband and I asked for double patty burgers. We both received singles, but were charged for doubles. I didn't feel like dealing with the unpleasant employees. I decided to just eat the garbage because I was starving. Luckily, the prices are cheap so we didn't spend a fortune on this garbage. The ice is really good though. Those are the only good things I have to say about this place. This was my first time eating here. I'm not sure if I'd try this place again. More thank likely I wouldn't. Not my cup of tea."

"When I was a little girl going to the feed store with my grandpa, we would always stop by Shady Lane on the way home. After he passed, Shady Lane held a special place in my heart. Imagine my delight upon moving back and discovering that it was still here and thriving. Of course, I stopped in and I'm here to tell y'all, folks, one sip of that strawberry millshake and it was like I was that little girl again. Everyone was so friendly and the prices can't be beat. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stop by, you won't regret it!"
