About the Business

Fat Cat Cafe

Welcome to Fat Cat Cafe, located at 2901 East Park Avenue in Tallahassee, Florida. Our institution is a unique combination of a feline adoption center, cafe, and eclectic boutique, all set in a groovy atmosphere.

At Fat Cat Cafe, you can enjoy modest treats and beverages at a reasonable price while spending time with our adorable cats who are available for adoption. Our small cafe offers a selection of pod coffees, breakfast blends, sodas, water, tea, granola bars, and candies.

In our boutique, you can find a variety of goodies from local artists and artisans, including soaps from Sassafrass Soapery, catnip bags by Gail, and paintings by Joy Green and Karen Knight Veal.

All of our feline residents come from rescues in Tallahassee and have been spayed or neutered, tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, received microchips and rabies vaccines, and are parasite-free. We welcome all cats, including special needs kitties who deserve a chance at a loving home.

If you're interested in adopting one of our furry friends, simply let our employees know and we will help facilitate the process. Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the adoption room.

Fat Cat Cafe is operated by Feline Advocates of Leon County Inc., a 501(c)(3) Educational Non-Profit Organization. Our nonprofit tax identification number is 83-1120353. For more information, feel free to contact us or visit our location in Tallahassee.

"Very sweet staff. There was a miscommunication about our reservation and the staff and owner went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Facility is really nice and the cats were well cared for."

"My wife and I met and adopted a very sweet kitten with a big personality I know is going to fit in well. The staff was knowledgeable and kind and I’d suggest the Fat Cat Cafe to anyone looking to adopt or just hang out with some well socialized very well cared for cats. Our new kitten is already making herself at home and we are so excited to see her grow into a happy healthy cat. Thank you to Gisele and the rest of the Fat Cat Cafe staff for all your help with picking out a kitten that would fit well in our home and for the wonderful service you provide to all the sweet cats you care for. I wish I could have taken them all home."

"I booked the cafe for two hours with a friend and we both loved it. We went during less busy hours so we had the room to ourselves which was much nicer than having other people with us. Most of the cats are friendly and want to be petted while some are more shy. There are many toys on a counter to play with them but they provide endless entertainment just being themselves. Along with the cats, the jazz music helps create a super relaxing atmosphere. Fair price for the amount of stress relieving this place does for you!!"

"Great place to see and interact with some kitties. The cafe part needs a little work as its Keurig and some bottled sodas in a messy fridge. Hope they can get some good coffee in there one day. Nevertheless a very cool place to visit. Had a lot of fun."
