"This is the second skirt I’ve ordered (online) from shop kente. I originally bought the first skirt on Etsy and the second via their website. Both were great quality skirts. They do burn incense, so yes, you will notice a smell. But the smell easily can be washed away. I washed both skirts and the smell was gone immediately. The service has always been good. They answer my questions very quickly and the items shipped quickly without a problem. I love what I got and the quality is on par, and sometimes better, than other places I have shopped for skirts. Looking forward to shopping here more."

"I purchased an Afro-Centric piece from this shop today & washed it on gentle cycle before wearing, due to it smelling like the store (if you know you know). Took the piece out of the wash & it has completely faded, leaving behind a glittery mess all over the rest of the fabric. There was no tag sewn in the item detailing how it should be washed, so I thought I was safe washing on the delicate cycle. Clearly I wasn’t because the garment is cheaply made & a complete waste of $40. I absolutely will not support this business again if this is the quality of items they sell. I will try to post pictures so it is evidenced how faded the top was after the wash. It can be compared to the scarf, which I inserted in one picture, to detail somewhat how the item looked before washing (it faded as well, but not nearly as bad)."

"I ordered two fabrics from Shop Kente to make slings for two friends' new babies. They were incredibly communicative and helpful, including letting me know that the brighter yellow fabric only had the quantity I selected in two separate cuts so that I could choose how to receive it. The fabric pre-washed excellently and, although it's a bit stiff in a way I hope will wear into greater softness with time, it's also light and strong. The colors are vibrant and beautiful, and the patterns are gorgeous. I had plenty of fabric to make the slings *and* still make a satchel for each sling that can be tied to the rings. Best of all, while the fabrics have a "wrong side"...it can only be detected up close with a VERY careful eye, so BOTH sides look great. I am tremendously pleased with the customer service, the speed of delivery, and the products themselves....and the new mamas love their new slings too. Thank you!"
