"A co-worker had told me he had a great experience at a furniture store in Dalton, when I told him about mine at Bates he said “Yep! That’s the one!” Bates was extremely pleasant to work with and very helpful in finding the exact furniture we wanted.  We were looking for a specific brand of furniture (Homestretch) and a specific style of couch and recliner.  We had called and even visited a few stores in the Chattanooga area and none of them had the newer zero gravity line.  One store told us it wasn’t out yet, another told us it was discontinued!  We called Bates and they knew exactly what we were talking about, said it was a popular line, and that they’d have some in the showroom the following week.  They called us when it came in and we headed down.  Our sales person was very pleasant to work with through the whole process. Got a great deal too as they honored a discount my wife had made over the phone for Black Friday.  I’ll definitely be coming back when we’re ready to buy more."

"Buying a new bed room suit and had to order it. Pay earnest money, which they kept, and ordered the suit. Did this for a 90 days same as cash. At the end of 90 days, they expected payment in full without delivering what I ordered. I thought that it was odd to expect payment for undelivered goods but they did. So I asked to do COD and they agreed. By August, the suit still hadn’t been delivered. So I moved on. I get a call in September that it finally came in and they was appalled when I told them I went to another store and bought the furniture I was wanting. They even expected more money, above the 10% that I had already paid, for a “restocking fee”, and refused to reimburse me for what they couldn’t deliver. Since the ownership change, the store looks nice but the business prowess is horrendous. Wouldn’t recommend doing business there."

"This was my first stop to look for a few furniture pieces I need and I was very glad I went. Friendly people. And not pushy...just helpful to find what you are interested in. They have an excellent variety of inventory. Living room, mattresses, and motion furniture was downstairs and bedroom and dining room was upstairs. There was a good selection of lamps available. Clean and bright store!"
