"I spoke with a nice lady on the phone in late July about a CNA course that started August 6. She told me there were still a few spots open and could get me in if I came within the next couple of days. I came in the very next day and said the evening class was no longer available and that there was one that started August 20th. I had her sign me up and put down $300 to save my spot. She also told me that I needed to get a TB skin test, and provided me with directions and said I needed to get the required uniform. She also stated that orientation was at 5pm on August 13. I went to the uniform store after our meeting and told the lady at the desk that I was with the school and which uniform the school required. The uniform lady didn't know, which was fine so I called the lady at the school back and she was like "it's a blue-green color". Now, there are like 50 different blues and greens to choose from. So I listed a couple and she still didn't recognize any of the names. I ended up purchasing by picking an in-between color, thinking I would just return it later if it was the wrong color. A couple weeks go by and the day of orientation I had time to go to the health clinic that the lady provided me directions with to get my TB test. I follow the directions, only to end up in the middle of the city with no health clinic. I called the health clinic and they moved about 2 miles down the road. When I got there, it looked like that building had been there for years. Someone was too lazy to give me the correct directions. Then I called the school to ask if I needed to wear my uniform to orientation. The guy that answers the phone spoke incredibly poor English and I had to ask my question three times before I got a round about response that finally answered it. Then he tells me that I have to be there at 4pm instead of 5pm. So I rushed over there because it was already almost 3:30. When I get there I am THE ONLY person there. The vice president takes me back almost immediately. I sat down in his office and he tells me that the class is being moved to September 4th because there aren't enough people to fill the class. At this point I am livid because not only did I waste my time rushing over, but the class got moved back a SECOND time. No one bothered to tell me anything, no phone call, no email, nothing. I asked him why no one informed me of this prior to coming and all he could come up with was that he could credit me $100 for waiting. I said I wasn't going to wait a month for a class that was supposed to start last week. I asked for my money back and he seemed pretty cooperative. It seemed like giving a student a full refund was quite common. If you're going to go to a CNA course, don't go to AGEC, it's a waste of time, you never know what is going on, and the language barrier is more than I could handle."
