"This is the main reasoning behind moving to another school district for my children. One of my children was sexually assaulted by another student 3 days in a row. When this was initially brought to my attention I had requested a conference with teacher, counselor, my child/myself, the other student/parent(s), along with the principal. I was informed the day before this meeting that it needed to be postponed. Then, on the day of the meeting I received a conference call with the principal and counselor stating that they will not have a meeting and that they aren't going to be writing him up either because they don't want it to go on his permanent record. I'm strongly disgusted with the lack of guidance for character and discipline that not only this school has shown but also the superintendent has shown my children. After this incident i had contacted the superintendent through emails and the only responses i recieved were that this sounded like a matter the principal should've been handling. I explained she hadnt with multiple emails and then never had a response back. Very disappointed that my daughter could be treated this way and nothing be done to assure her safety by those that are to be protecting her throughout the school day. Academically this school lacks the drive for excellence mainly because of funding and poor management skills. Throughout the years my children attended i had two teachers that i worked with that were above average. Alot of students recieve AB honors because the standards are way far behind. We transferred out April of last year (its now march) and my children are just now getting caught up to their peers. There are still skills that pop up that they've should have learned last year that were never taught. My heart is sore for this community of children."
