"My overall experience has been great. The staff have been very helpful and my psychiatry and therapy have been amazing. I believe I have improved significantly since my first visit. I just have one issue: My therapist is no longer with rivertown psychiatry in opelika and I did not get any warning. I did not find out until two months after my last appointment with this therapist. Since then I have not been able to find a new one and this office does not have a therapist that accepts my insurance and are pediatric. My only option now is a therapist that is way to far away from where I live to make any appointments in a reasonable time since I have school and cannot miss school for an appointment. Another issue I have is getting my medications refilled before I run out. I am not entirely sure whether this is because of my psychiatrist or my insurance, but frequently when I need a refill on one of my medications I can not get it refilled. However, on another medicine they refill it way too much. I have two extra bottles every time I run out. But this issue is usually resolved before it gets too serious."

"STAY AWAY. In short, "We are here when you need us the most" is a down right lie. DO NOT COME IF YOU HAVE CHRONIC ILLNESSES OR ANY ISSUE THAT MAY MAKE IT SO YOU CAN'T COME IN. Telling them when I was going to be missing because I was out of town(typically for medical needs) did nothing but have staff be rude or exasperated at me before just hanging up. I've been forcefully discharged from their services because of the absences. Again this is related to an illness I have been trying to get a diagnosis for for 7 years. The policy is understandable as I know backing out of an appointment is lost money/time(which money is all that seems to matter) until you say "oh hey everything is going weird we're figuring out a medical mystery that causes many problems I have and have had for years it should be on my chart. I'll call when possible and let you know when I'm not coming" they don't care whatsoever. This was early last year when I was officially discharged and when I received the call I was told I could get another referral to help reinstatement but at that time the managers said it was best I not be reinstated as a patient. That being said. I came in today and was told that's incorrect but we can send in another request. When I tried to explain I have been diagnosed with a chronic illness that's what I was battling with as well as my diagnosed depression all that time it was brushed past. One of the staff was pushy and rude honestly it's the same one who is always incredibly rude. Unless I get Dr. Leslie again I'm not sure I want to be a patient and if I am not reinstated this time my family is very likely leaving their practice. Also a little bonus to this situation in general my doctor said they no longer call when given referrals. This puts the burden on the patient to take that step. Most people I know would rather be stuck in their depressive state than call into an office like that because of crippling anxiety. Again. "We are here when you need us the most" unless you're chronically ill for too long or so depressed you can't come."

"Rivertown is the best place, the doctors make you feel so seen and actually listen to what you say, the front desk workers Mary Hannah and Aaron are so helpful and kind. The smiles make all the difference and these people always greet everyone happily. They also don’t rush you to get through anything and are more than happy to wait and let you take your time."
