Huffman Family Eye Care

"We have used this practice in the past and its always been amazing. Today was a different experience. The front desk was kind and helpful. Never made it to the doctor. My daughter has a lot of anxiety about the eye doctor so she has a lot of questions. The nurse that took us back was openly expressing her frustration with my daughter and actually looked at me and suggested that we do this another day. We simply left and won’t be back. I am a practice manager myself and I will not allow my employees to take out their feelings on my pts. While I feel this is a good practice I feel that the nurse or tech I’m not sure on the title that took us back was taking her frustration out on us. My 8yo daughter did not deserve that. As a care provider it is incumbent upon us to meet the client at a good level and not show our frustration. That’s what you do when you are providing a service. My family will not be coming back to this practice. I just think people should know when something like this happens."

"This was my initial visit to Huffman, seeing Dr. Vasquez for an eye exam. I was very impressed with her and her entire staff, from Megan, who did the intake, to Andrea, who helped me with my eyeglass selection. Office atmosphere is marked by professionalism, courtesy, and service. I did not feel rushed, had all my questions answered, and felt I received superior service from beginning to end."

"I called to schedule for my 10 year old for red eye/injury. I explained on the phone I wanted to have it looked at by eye Dr. Per his PCP the day before. She wanted to verify ins. I called back with info. She confirmed she located my policy. I show up early to fill out new pt forms, give her my license. And waited with my nervous child. 10 min later, they tell me they need my physical ins. Card. So my employer info, my member id, AND my licensE weren't enough. Lol, and they LOCATED MY POLICY pre arrival!! I was frustrated! I told reception that their office policy was aweful. The receptionist says, "you know, we don't have to schedule you" . I stopped her there and said "so are you not going to see him"?. She pauses, tilts her head and says, "No... I don't think so." Wow. I went to my car to leave, but went back in to collect my paperwork and it was STILL sitting out on the desk in plain view of whoever walked up. I told them I'd be leaving this review. We left after wasting our time. I called another nearby practice and had him seen NO ISSUE. The other office said "Huffman should've been able to see you." She asks me if I didn't have my member id, identification etc. Until, finally.."Huh!! I'm stumped. Not sure why they didnt see you". At the least, they should protect pt medical info. , a decent practice would let you know on the phone a physical card is required even though they verified ins OVER THE PHONE. AND A GOOD. practice would have billed insurance with the policy she pulled up, and be understanding or at least not be RUDE, and decline rescheduling while my son with eye injury sits in waiting room crying and and anxious. Dr's might be great, I have no idea. I'm posting on the policy, rudeness, and complete LACK OF PT CENTERED CARE. UPDATED RESPONSE: Just now seeing your response.. Even response is RUDE and still far cry from Patient CENTERED provider."

"Amanda and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. She really helped me with my specialty contacts, which I’ll be forever grateful for her expertise. I also got the coolest pair of Etina Barcelona frames. I never thought I looked good in glasses, but I absolutely love them."

"Very beautiful and large office. Very comfortable. Every person on staff is so kind. Dr. Vazquez did a wonderful job assessing my daughter. She didn’t just prescribed glasses willie nillie, she was very honest and was very thorough. This will be my families eye care center."
