Caribbean Paradise

"My niece brought home red pea soup. It is the worst soup I have ever tasted. It's old. I can tell it had been frozen But not before it spoiled.. a fe paes with mealy potatoes, bell pepper and a chunk of carrot. It even smells off. I am tempted to call the health department. She called and was offered nither explanation, another item nor her money back. I drained it to show the vegetables My chickens chickens will only eat these vegetables cooked. They wouldn't eat them. I didn't tell her where to go. She went close to home. First visit and Never again. Too bad. Photos wouldn't upload."

"First time here. And well worth it! I had to stop inhaling my food to write this review before nothing was left. The food is burn ya tongue and the roof of your mouth GOOD!! I’m a big boy that normally buys a large for myself but I got a small and still had food to share with my lady that wasn’t with me"

"We ordered the curry shrimp plate with cabbage and rice. Also, the jerk chicken with double cabbage with rice. It was so good. We only had one Jamaica restaurant go to, but now we have another. The chicken was so juicy, and the cabbage had so much flavor. I couldn't stop eating it, lol. We ordered the cornbread, which was very different (especially for a southerner). It was a little too sweet for my liking. The flavor had a bit of cinnamon in it."

"Not that impressed as my first time. Yellow rice was not good. Cabbage was bland. Oxtails ok. Macaroni only took one bite (don’t even remember what it tasted like) Beef patties seemed like frozen ones because it wasn’t fresh…. Overall because it was the basic of basic Caribbean food and because I would go back if I got desperate, I’ll give them 3 out 5. No rush to go back but I would. When I was in there a man was taking his jerk chicken back because they were salty. Reviews on Yelp, there were a few complaints about the saltiness. My next visit will be to try the jerk wings/chicken… whenever that will be!"

"The sign on the door indicated that the meal was $10.50, after placing the order was told $21 + tax. After pointing this out, we were told, "Oh we need to change the sign." I was disappointed that no efforts were made by the establishment to correct this or offer alternative. No, I did not ask, however it could have been a customer service opportunity to possibly win repeat business or afford at least 1 more star. The corn looked old, the rice was mushy, the sautéed vegetables were extremely vinegary and the fish did not taste fresh. I actually felt nauseous. Here's before photos, check it out. I would never go back."
