Pit Stop Bar-B-Q

"Not a real good experience. We were traveling back home and were looking for a meal in the area. We found Pit Stop on maps and read the reviews, figured we'd stop in. Plenty of room to park, we were greeted at the door. Quickly seated in a fairly empty restaurant. The waitress came to the table quickly and took our order. I ordered a BBQ sandwich meal with water. The sandwich was meh at best, not a lot of flavor and some gristle, the fries were standard bar fare, and the cup of slaw was flavourless and nearly frozen. At this point it was a 5/10, but we were hungry and it was better than fast food. Then the bill came, we were charged for tap water. Tap water in a dirty cup. I assumed this was a mistake, I asked to speak with the manager. I exclaimed to her that we both ordered a meal and I didn't think it was fair to charge for tap water. In front of the restaurant by the bar, she admonished me about how she had to pay for water, electricity, and other utilities. She told me that it was on the menu and she would gladly show me. It was my fault I didn't see it. Given this ladies attitude, I would assume she was the bitter owner. Given that, I would never come back here, nor would I ever do business with the owner."

"Oh my gosh! I cannot wait to go back. I got the open faced roast sandwich plate with squash casserole and mashed potatoes with gravy. The squash was phenomenal!!! The roast beef was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were a little garlicky for me- but I'm not a huge garlic fan. If you are, you'll love them. For appetizers, my friends got the BBQ wings and Pinecone, which is their version of the blooming onion. Easily some of the best wings I've ever had- top 3 for sure! The caramel cake melts in your mouth. Next time, I want to try the fried rib tips with sweet chili dipping sauce. I will absolutely, most definitely be back. And soon. Oh! And the service was great, too."

"Very good food and generous portions. Me and my wife each got a lunch plater and shared with our four year old granddaughter and everyone had plenty. Service was good and the kitchen got our order out super fast. Food was hot and wasn’t just dumped out of a can and heated some like you get at some restaurants."

"Best smoked turkey sandwich ever! The restaurant was festively decorated for Christmas. Our waitress was very attentive & friendly. All the employees were very nice. If you are ever in the area, stop by. It was highly recommended by the locals!"

"Great, friendly, Southern hospitality. Elizabeth is great. Food was just okay. We had the combo platter with chicken and beef, beef too dry. Chicken was tasty. Potato logs and baked beans were tasty. Nice comfy atmosphere and very reasonable."
