"So thankful the new owners came along and breathed new life into The Wooden Shoe. We hosted another after funeral here in the back room. Kind of like a good umpire or referee they are doing a great job when you don't notice them. The staff are so efficient and helpful you forget they are feeding 50 people and serving drinks without any delays. Fried chicken still like it has always been the best around. And bringing back Minster's Wooden Shoe beer with Tailspin Brewery in Coldwater is awesome. A real German style Bock beer in a cold mug. I'm so glad my Dad got to see you guys thriving. ❤️"

"The vintage bar is super cool! I ordered the Ruben, it was one of the best I've ever had. The food was hot and fresh, service was great. I will he back."

"First time here. I ordered a Ruben sandwich on rye because you really can't make a bad Ruben. However, this one was great. It had thick slices of corned beef and the sauerkraut did not have that aftertaste you sometimes get. The bread was grilled perfectly. The shoestring French fries were a nice touch. I'll have to make this a regular stop when I'm in the area to try other items."

"Very good side salad. The Corned Beef Reuben was okay. I like pretty much all Reubens because I love sauerkraut and rye. In this one the Corned Beef had a lot of fatty bits, which I picked out the worst pieces. I switched out 1000 island dressing for mustard, which was yellow mustard. I prefer spicy brown, but yellow might be all they had. The mashed potatoes were a little lumpy, but besides the lumpy parts were pretty creamy, so overall pretty good. The waiter was super friendly, cheerful and helpful and did everything right. Update: Returned for a salad lunch. This is one of the better places in town to get salad. They always are made with special attention to detail and good ingredients. I got a ceasar salad with shrimp and they grilled the romaine. First time having a salad that way. The flavor was really good, the shrimp was blackened and delicious. The lettuce gets a little wilty and oily when grilled, but I suppose there's no way around that. Overall very good. They also accommodated my request for scrambled eggs and made them very well - soft and creamy and delicious."

"New owners and a much needed remodel to this tavern. The interior was new but still contains the history of the old place, including several authentic and tasty Wooden Shoe beers (14 total beers on tap). I had the build a burger, since there was a whole menu dedicated to it, chose the brisket burger, and was impressed, one of the best burgers I have had. Service was great as well."
