"The fact that some parents would dare give KidChess a low rating just shows me some people won't ever be satisfied. This program takes large groups of kids after school with no chess background whatsoever, gets them to actually listen after school when they very tired yet bouncing off the walls from sitting all day, teaches them the (what I find extensive and hard to remember) rules of chess, how to have fun and enjoy the game and also so many strategies to grow as chess players. My son joined the after school program in 1st grade in not knowing anything at all and has learned so much and grown to absolutely love chess. I am so sad he will be in middle school next year and not have KidChess as an option after school!"

"We highly recommend KidChess. My son has been in the program for the last 3 years and keeps looking to play. They have great couches that always encourage the kids to think before taking any actions and help them in a friendly way to bring out their full potential. We have also had great experiences with the KidChess tournaments. They are in a friendly competitive environment."

"Kid Chess is a wonderful organization that offers tailored chess programs for kids in schools (after school program) as well as online. My son has been playing chess with Kid Chess for four years now and he has thoroughly enjoyed it while learning a great deal. He is now rated at the national level and has done quite well for his age (he is only 9 years old). I learned how to play chess when I was a kid, but in those days playing chess was a bit boring because you pretty much only played "regular" games. But with kid chess, kids engage in all kinds of fun and challenging exercises, even competing against coaches (with coaches having only 30 seconds or one minute to win against the kids). My son also attended summer camps in the past and kid chess camps has always been one of his favorite camps. This year, with Covid-19, I have been impressed at how quickly Kid Chess adapted the kid chess after school program into an online chess activity. My son was able to play every day online for up to two hours with other kids (automated pairing). He usually played about one hour each day and made some good progress while taking his mind away from video games. he now joined the online summer camp and he is excited about being able to continue playing chess while staying at home. If your kid likes chess, I highly recommend Kid Chess. The team is extremely well organized, creative, fun, and they care about kids."

"The program is supposed to designed for all the school aged students as they advertised. The kindergartner who is a beginner without any experience with chess is not encouraged to take this course at school. The kindergartner has to play with older kids with better understanding. Very poor curriculum design for younger students. If you want your kids learn somethings in the class, forget it. You have to learn how to play chess yourself and teach them yourself. Let the kids to enroll this course from 2nd grade with the basic skills could be a better choice."
