The Humane Society Thrift Store, located at 168 Tri-County Plaza in Cumming, Georgia, is a store with a mission. Since opening in 2010, their goal has been to receive gently used donated items from the community and sell them at reasonable prices to support the financial needs of the Humane Society of Forsyth County. This "NO KILL" shelter works towards rescuing more animals and finding them forever homes through adoption. The store's policy of "THE BEST OF THE BEST" ensures that only top quality items are sold, with unsuitable items being recycled and sold to generate additional funds. The dedicated staff also volunteer at community events to support the cause. With no advertising budget, the store relies on word of mouth to spread awareness. "With all of the other thrift options in town these folks need to remember that THRIFT is part of their name. The majority of items are overpriced for what they are and the manager is relatively rude. Lord help you if you ask a price on something, or if something not tagged is for sale. They also like to turn the lights off on you 30 minutes before closing so it's not a super friendly atmosphere. To their credit, the younger staff are very sweet and apologetic for the attitude of the other ones. They usually do have a good selection of items, but no treasures unless you're willing to pay above new retail for something used and / or broken."
