Fumi Hibachi and Sushi

"Updated review for the night of 02/09/24. The host was overwhelmed and we were the only two people standing there. He didn't greet us or say hello after waiting for five minutes patiently my husband went up to tell him we didn't want hibachi and we just wanted to sit by the sushi bar. The host was SUPER RUDE and said GIVE ME A MOMENT! And it was my birthday and it wasn't crowded! and my husband was really nice and didn't say anything back but I was very upset at how he spoke to him. Host ran around for five more minutes. Yes he was doing stuff but come on find out what we want then tell us to wait. OR JUST GIVE US EYE CONTACT SAY HELLO! After 10 minutes of standing there he finally came back over and said "I'm ready now" and my husband told him we wanted to sit at the sushi bar. He told us the server was backed up and we had to wait at the other bar or if we wanted to sit in the front and wait. GREAT so we could have been at the bar having a drink instead of standing there like idiots for ten minutes. And it only took him one minute to do that/ sitting at the bar for two mins we place our drink order and the host comes back over .. oh your table is ready. Now we have to close our at the bar since they don't have the TECHNOLOGY to transfer the tab to the server..what year is this .. get Aloha POS or something .. so now we have to close our and do a whole thing when we could have been told this in one minute when we came in. Anyway taking off a few stars for that because I have been there on a Friday when the line is out the door and never waited more than five minutes to know what to do. Also as we were at the bar other husbands began coming over to the bartender looking for a host in the front. I totally get being short staffed but the host needs hospitality and multitasking training. 02/09/2024 Friday 8.45 pm. Also it was birthday. I have been here a ton of times over the past two years. I never come for hibachi since I don't eat meat. I sit at the sushi bar. I like the ambiance of this place and the sushi boat for two is sooo good!!"

"I was very impressed with the atmosphere. It’s very nicely decorated and a little more upscale than I expected when I went for the first time. It’s my favorite hibachi place I’ve been to thus far in the Duluth area, and it was decently good but not mind blowing! I did the dining room experience."

"I’ve been to a lot of hibachi restaurants and this one was by far the worst. The decor and atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. I had a reservation and they sat us 30mins early which was really good! The chef was prompt as well as the server but they didn’t have any high chairs for the baby because they were all being used so we had to wait for one during our meal. The chef didn’t perform any tricks and was very sloppy when putting our food on our plates. The salad was drenched in dressing which made it almost inedible. The rice was very mushy and over cooked. I received my bill with other people food and drinks on it and they charged me for an adult meal for one of my kids who clearly had a kids menu. It’s a nice building but we won’t be back."
