Days Inn by Wyndham Fairmont

"This is the best hotel I have stayed at in a while. My reason for 5 stars is that any of the quirks of staying here pale in comparison to the most important qualities. I've experienced these quirks at all hotels in this price range (and at some even more expensive). With that as a baseline, this place excels on several fronts. The decor can be a bit older looking in style, and when I walked into the room I half expected it to smell based on its appearance - but it was actually completely smell free. I appreciated this, because I often have issues with smoke smells and even the cleaning products, detergents, and air fresheners used at hotels. The place is actually very well cleaned. Some rooms appear to be renovated while others are still lagging a bit behind. The AC/heating unit is somewhat poorly fit into the wall, and there is sometimes a bit of gapping around the door to the outside. The unit can be slightly loud, but I also want to say that I haven't been at a hotel recently in the $50-$100 range that doesn't have this issue (often using this exact same model). I found that the room stayed quite warm after running the unit just for a little while in the middle of winter, meaning it didn't have to run too continuously. Now, since I didn't stay here in warmer weather, I can't speak for if the gapping on the door and heating unit creates any issues with bugs getting in. I can tell you that I am like a hawk when it comes to spotting bugs though, and that I did not experience any bugs in the place during my stay, live or dead. In one of the unrenovated rooms I stayed in, the bathroom door was difficult to shut. I've also experienced this at other hotels - I think the humidity just gets to the doors over time. I have not stayed at a hotel for this price that did not have some mold collecting in the crevices of the shower construction, but for all intents and purposes, it was clean, the water pressure and temperature were good, and I did not feel gross showering. In other renovated rooms, everything was perfectly clean. The WiFi connection was spotty - I was able to stream movies without issue, but yet sometimes it would have difficulty even loading basic websites. I am guessing my experience has more to do with the fact that my unit was located on the opposite end from the main office. So if that's important to you, I'd ask for one closer to that end of the building. I assume the person at the desk is the manager for the hotel. He has been consistently kind and accommodating. I have been traveling with my cat, and have had difficulty finding a place to stay. Recently, I was at a Motel 6 in a different town that allowed pets to stay free, but had a policy of not allowing pets to be left unattended in the room - the staff at that hotel took the policy very literally and were watching me on the security cameras to see if I took my cat with me and how long I left for. I wasn't able to even go eat, and would have had to take my cat with me and leave her in a freezing car every time I had to go out. In searching for another hotel, I've found many others have the same policy - and that some specifically don't allow cats while they allow dogs. To me, that is not a "pet friendly" hotel. I appreciate that at this Days Inn, they were able to use some common sense that my cat was not going to disturb anyone or cause massive destruction in my time away to go eat a meal. Plus, they have allowed my cat to stay free. Above all, the most important quality to me at any hotel is that it is peaceful and quiet. The construction of this place seems pretty solid with stone walls, and I have not heard any noises from neighboring units. I was staying at a Wingate hotel for $50 more, and while it was objectively "nicer" on all counts, the walls were paper thin and I could hear the person in the next unit peeing. The only noise here is from the hotel being close to the highway, but that kind of noise is soothing for me. I've had a very peaceful stay here, and the beds were unexpectedly very comfortable as well."

"Stayed here every week for a year for my travel nursing job. I’ve never had any problems. Easy check in and check outs. Staff was friendly. Hotel is affordable and met all my expectations. Thx!"

"They were supposed to be sending me a refund because they sent part of our party to another hotel which was horrible (this one wasn’t the greatest either). Never did receive the check and after filing a complaint with BBB they never responded to them either."

"It was ok , the room appeared to be clean. But the heater and Ac on the wall in our room was so loud and awful we couldn’t use it it was so loud my husband and I had to scream to talk so we went to the front desk and told the guy working who was sleeping behind the counter. And he got attitude with us and would not switch the rooms for us I took him to the room and showed him what the heater was doing he heard how extremely loud it was and he still wouldn’t do anything , oh he said we had to pay a extra 100 buxs to switch rooms even tho that room had broken air system. I think that was shady 2 days we stayed in that room not 1 time did anybody come to check it out. Disappointed really he tried to scam us for more money"

"Nice place close to where we wanted to be. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms were clean, if a bit dated. My biggest beef was the lack of tv stations as we wanted to watch some games and there were limited options"
