Dry Hill Community Center 191 Mollohan Drive, Beckley, WV 25801

"Really nice size for a large group. We reserved it months ago. On arrival, the building was beautifully clean with ample supplies of paper towels and toilet paper in restrooms and kitchen. HOWEVER, nobody informed us of the lack of air-conditioning (in August). Thank goodness, someone who uses the building relatively often was present and opened windows for airflow. Others brought fans later. Also, it was requested that we leave a few leftovers for a picnic that was going on the next day. The building was cleaned up nicely prior to leaving and the items that were requested to be left by the renters on the following day were neatly stacked on one little corner of the kitchen counter, on a table in the corner of the large space, in one place in the fridge and a couple live plants were left on the porch. The cleaning staff came through and threw away over $100.00 of paper supplies (plates, napkins, cups, silverware), discarded large mylar balloon animals, food, plants and even a Pyrex dish. Why would someone who would sweep, clean a kitchen and put away tables and chairs, l want neatly stowed things discarded? There wasn't a note, but I am pretty certain the park service is unreachable on the weekend. Our event went well despite the dealings around the use of the building. Would I rent it again. Probably not."
