Grandview Cottages

"My son and his wife had their wedding here. It was perfect. Separate cabins for different family groups. Drop dead gorgeous views, especially in October when the fall colors are showing. The cabins were gorgeous. We stayed in a wheelchair-accessible cabin. There was a bedroom on the ground floor straight across from a bathroom. They both had wider door frames and furniture placement for a wheelchair to move about easily. The kitchen, dining area, and living room area are accessible also. The furniture and beds were comfortable and clean. There were even a few small blankets for when you want to sit out on the porch and watch the sunset or on the couch watching TV. They had Wi-Fi enough for a lot of people to satisfactorily be on without it lagging. The TVs had basic cable. It was tastefully decorated in typical log cabin style but had a very homey feel to it. There were firepit areas with Adirondack chairs out in front of the cabins. The place was dog-friendly. We saw so many deer there munching away on acorns. They were so used to people that they ate off my son's hand. It was unbelievable! And we saw some kind of white reindeer-looking deer as well. My only complaint is that we had trouble with the water. It stopped working several times. And when you're getting ready for a wedding and already fighting for bathroom/shower time with the 11 people sharing the cabin, no water is a huge deal. As the mom, I always get everyone ready before I get ready. Running out of water while I was finally getting myself ready was very frustrating and had me in tears, scared I was going to be late because I had to make do with a few things getting ready. Then after the reception and for the whole night and next morning we were without water. That wasn't making it easy on anyone. We had to pack up and leave with the wedding hair and make-up from the night before and travel down to one of the other cabins for a flushing toilet, until they ran out of water too. But the owners immediately got on top of the issue and were bringing in giant water containers on trucks to refill the water tanks. No city water lines on the top of a mountain! They were on top of everything the whole stay. They had these outside heaters and fireplaces. And a bar area that serves as the venue. They needed propane. One call to say we might need more propane and they were there in a flash to bring some. I would definitely take my family back there. I absolutely loved it."

"We spent a 4-day weekend with extended family at the Indian Creek Cottage for Easter. It was fantastic! None of the other cottages were rented that weekend, so we had the entire area to ourselves. The event venue faces west and is a beautiful place to enjoy sunsets (photos do not do it justice). The Cottage itself was immaculately clean when we arrived and well stocked with basic provisions such as coffee, bottled water and even a bottle of local wine. We cooked all meals in, and everything we needed was available. The owners are nearby and very responsive to any additional needs. Beds are comfortable and there was plenty of room for our group. Rocking chairs on the porch and the firepit next to the cabin were favorite places to spend a great weekend. It felt like home. Only advice - It is 30 minutes to the nearest town. It's not a problem, since you won't want to leave, just bring your groceries and beverages with you! We really enjoyed this place and hope to return soon!"

"My husband and I had our wedding ceremony here on April 9th, 2022. We are a military family and had to plan our WV wedding from South Carolina. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helpful, and kind. I had very minimal anxiety surrounding the big day thanks to them. The scenery speaks for itself in pictures, but I must say it is some of the most beautiful land in West Virginia. We were able to have our friends and family close in proximity from Thursday to Sunday due to the large, luxury cabins offered. It felt like we got to have a 4 day celebration rather than just one day. I cannot recommend this venue enough!"
