"I was searching for a small business in Aiken that sells fine stationery, and was recommended to visit this shop downtown. The woman who helped me, Gretchen, was very sweet. She guided me to the section of the store where they had all of their fine stationery and she was also very patient while I spent a while looking at everything they had. There are a very diverse range of products that they carry that are perfect for gifts. However, my main focus today was finding some nice stationery for mailing personal, hand-written notes. Being able to physically browse and inspect the quality of the paper before making a purchase was a refreshing experience, and I appreciated the opportunity to support a local business than resorting to online retailers or big corporations. I couldn't find any Tomoe River or Clairefontaine products, HOWEVER, I was very excited to find some Crane notecard sets. These are very interesting because they are made exclusively of cotton. My Pelikan Souverän M400 effortlessly handled this paper during some writing today, but I would advise caution writing on this paper with a fountain pen that does not write wet. Medium nibs and very wet (or archival) inks will work best on this cotton paper — because the paper is 100% cotton it is the most durable and archival. I had a very enjoyable experience, and I'll be back to pick up some more stationery in the future. If you're looking for some great gift ideas, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this local gem!"
