"The sights were really very beautiful, but the trails to get to the sights worth seeing are tremendously difficult. Please be advised... DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CARRY ALING WITH YOU ANY CAMPING GEAR WHATSOEVER FOR YOU WILL NOT ENJOY YOUR TIME HERE AT ALL! I would not recommend this place for families with young children because they won't make it. Bring a compass so you do not get lost because there are three trails and two different entrances to begin your hike, and DO NOT take anything with you but yourself. The first time hiking this trail, we took a pathway that had too many tree roots, low hanging brush, and steep 2-4 ft. steps UP all along the entire path, let's just say that my group was so exhausted by the end (quarter mile) until we simply decided we'd be better off pitching our tent in the woods next to a creek and wait until the next day to attempt the hike again. The smooth sailing entrance has a slow and steady incline, with much wider pathways, and this path was much easier for us all. The Raven Trail was well worth the trouble of hiking the longer pathway around the edges of the lake... very beautiful! IS NOT INTENDED FOR CAMPERS BUT IS IDEAL FOR ADVANCED HIKERS. We did not enjoy ourselves very much at all and will do everything differently the next time we vacation here!"
"We did the natural bridge trail. Was a very pretty hike. You walk on the natural bridge over a small stream. You could scramble down to see it from the bottom, I did. Continue on the trail and there is a hewn log bridge in front of the small waterfall. You are able to walk right up to the falls. The rest of the loop is an incline. There is another trail that is longer, we were limited on time. With time spent picture taking at the bridge and falls it took us just over an hour to hike. We didn’t see anyone on the trail, there were several cars in the parking area."
"Well-kept and we'll marked trails in a gorgeous area. Lots of rock formations and mountain laurel. The office was open from 10am to 6pm today (Monday), and there were bathrooms, a water fountain, and maps available inside. Limited office hours are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We did the natural bridge loop and part of the raven rock loop. We hiked about 1.5 hours. Free entrance."
"Great hike. We took the Raven Cliff Falls trail which is about 4.4 miles according to the map. We stayed right at the 2 junction points when deciding which way around the loop we wanted to travel. We appreciated the beautiful lake views about halfway through and having the creek and waterfalls towards the end of our hike. A moderate hike that is doable for beginners and our puppy. The map estimates 3 hrs we completed the hike in 2.5 hrs with a small dog and a 7 year old (including stops for the views and a snack)"
"Beautiful area and scenery! The trails are fairly easy to follow. There are several small waterfalls and you can hear the babbling brook most of the time on the trail. There are some parts that are moderately difficult to hike but doable for the average person or child. We hiked the shorter trail and it took about an hour with a few stops to rest and enjoy the views. I have physical limitations due to a disability but I was able to complete the trail. I enjoyed my time here and I recommend this trail."
