The MEDI

The MEDI, located at 4975 Lacross Road in North Charleston, South Carolina, is an institution dedicated to promoting health equity through patient-centered neighborhoods. They work with community-based organizations to foster collaboration through education and technology. The goal of The MEDI is to connect communities to healthcare and social services using technology to exchange, track, and manage information in a safe, timely, effective, equitable, and person-centered manner.

As a 501(c) nonprofit organization, support received by The MEDI helps to further develop their programming and cover necessary expenses to create positive change in the lives of those impacted by social determinants of health. They host a weekly broadcast on WJNI 106.3 FM and online, showcasing the work of organizations improving health outcomes and promoting health equity.

Through federal grant funding, The MEDI engages in outreach efforts to improve vaccine confidence and support local prevention efforts. They also support faith-based and advocacy organizations, physician practices, non-profits, and colleges. Donations to their community research center help campaign for recovery care for all.
