"**** WORD OF WARNING*** In order to receive swag from Discovery Spotlight you must post a 5 star review, and prove to them that you posted the review. They are buying reviews with prizes, so take any 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. Attended the last event and it was a hot mess. No structure, the event runners who are supposed to have years of experience had no clue how to run registration for an event that was invite only and where everyone was pre registered. Contested badges with full name and age range were left sitting in a public area on tables with no one verifying who was taking them. $100 charge for a wristband so parents and guardians can accompany thier minor child, which no one checked for anyway. Cash only for day of add one. Only allowing children to get swag if thier guardian posts a 5 star review and proves it to the event runners. This event was touted as being for professional development, with feedback from talent scouts. I didn't expect my child to walk away with a job but to at least have sessions where they sat and had discussions with talent scouts. Overall a poorly run event, not worth the money as there was no professional development, just random showcases, and creepy guys making comments on little girls bodies."
"I don’t think this event is worth the money. They scout aspiring talents and exploit them for money. I spent over $40000 + to attend the event and I really wish I would have use the funds for something more useful towards my acting career. Not to mentioned I paid for a taping of the show and I have yet to receive it. Highly wouldn’t recommended!"
