Caribbean delight

"I don't know what happen too this place I use to love the food and it would taste fresh and everything would be good. This time it wasn't, I ordered the oxtail plate and a jerk chicken plate both were barely warm and it tasted like it was made way earlier in the day or possibly left overs.. Also asked them to put extra gravy on both plates on top of the rice and it was no gravy and the rice was plain no flavor and dry ... Highly upset..."

"The jerk pork and chicken were overcooked. The oxtail rice and peas plate was good. Meat tender, flavorful and the rice and Peas, plantains and cabbage were also cooked properly and well seasoned. I also had beef patties that were delicious as well. Just wish they made the patties in a spicy version. The service was nice and the dinning room floor and bar were clean. A bit apprehensive about coming back because I enjoy other proteins like goat and would hate to have that be overcooked as well. We'll see..., good experience overall."

"I typically don’t write reviews unless I’ve had a horrible experience but this was definitely not that. If you’re debating about whether or not to go. Go! This is some of the best island food that I’ve had in awhile. I typically travel to Columbia for good island food. There are a few other Charleston area island restaurants but this is hands down the best! The Ackee and salt fish was amazing!! I’m an oxtail girl and truthfully speaking they weren’t the flavor that I was looking for but they were still pretty good. The pattys were also perfect!! My partner is typically fussy about me driving 30+ mins for food but even he gave a seal of approval saying that it was worth the ride! Don’t let the other comments hold you back from this quiet gem. **The food was so good that I literally visited over a week ago and came across a photo I took of the food and came just to write a review**"

"Coming from Colorado, there were some surprisingly good carribean places to eat at. The wife and I were in the mood for some so out of all the places, this looked the most appealing. When I went in there, the lady told me that the A/C was out so they weren't trying to let people dine in. That was fine because we were getting the food to go, but I would have understand if they would have closed because it was stupid hot in there IMO. Anyway, we order Oxtails, Curry Goat, Plantains, a cabbage. Our total came out to about $60. I was impressed. The food came out in about 8 mins, it was piping hot, super fresh and the bag was heavy. They make the price worth it. This would definitely be a place we come to once every couple of months to get our fix. If you're ever in the area, check them out. I don't think you'd be disappointed. "The wait staff was friendly. Everyone loved the food! There's only one vegetarian meal on the menu...maybe they could cut the portion of rice and offer both greens and cabbage on the veg plate. The plantain- delicious! Also, I love the bright colors in the restaurant; it made me feel happy. It was almost like being on vacation."
