Rigdon's Fried Chicken

"Rigdon's is a local favorite, which is obvious by their parking lot that is almost always full. Their chicken is the best in town and always hot, fresh, and juicy! If you're passing through Hampton, or if you live in the area and just haven't been there, you should definitely give them a try!"

"If you find yourself traveling U.S. Route 278, which runs from Arkansas to Hilton Head, consider picking up some mighty fine fried chicken at Rigdon's en route to your destination that day. Fried chicken travels well. We stopped by 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday afternoon, the chicken offerings were limited but still served up hot and fresh with a smile. Bottom line: We think this is some of the best fried chicken we've ever had anywhere. A few quick things: • Fast and friendly • Take-out only* • Open until 3 PM Saturdays • Closed Sundays • Off the main road, behind McDonalds • Credit cards accepted * Either call ahead and pick up your order inside OR place an order on the spot outdoors at the side window. In other words, the indoor counter is for called in orders only. Rigdon's sells more than fried chicken and they say their hamburgers are made with fresh, handmade patties. "Best fried chicken I've ever had. There's a reason there is a line to place your order. We'll worth the wait. I was in the area visiting, so glad we drove by and saw all the people. I just knew this chicken had to be the best with that many customers in life e. I had the 2 breast with fries and coleslaw. The chicken is SO meaty but cooked to a tender juicy perfection while the batter is light and crispy, not over done. The batter is season to perfe tion, I didn't add salt or pepper, it didn't need it! There is batter for every bite!! I filled up completely on one breast and enjoyed the se one readt the next day. Warmed it up in my air fryer and enjoyed it as much as the first day. I'm not sure how they offer such ge erous portions for less than a meal at a fast food joint but they do. If I ever pass within 30 miles of Hampton, SC again I will detour to Rigdon's for sure!! Exceptional service and hospitality !!!"
