"Full of life! From fish to ducks it was a nice little area. Clean and just a beautiful spot to go. I will go again!! Fall is definitely the best time to go. The leaves changing colors and the little fog across the water was breath taking."

"A beautiful island, near Chapin, SC, on Lake Murray. This island is 16 acres in size and rises from 360 feet elevation at the shoreline to a maximum elevation of 403.7 feet above sea level (at approximately middle of the island) in just 260 feet distance. That's an elevation grade of about 16.8% - fairly steep. The island was likely named by Ed Fetner - Lake Murray's first cartographer. The island is in Bear Creek, adjacent to Stinking Creek - all in Lexington County. Camping is free on the island (with appropriate spacing only about 4-6 good sites). BUT, be sure to leave the island clean!"
