"We dined at the Congaree Rd location with our daughter today. It was her first time at Steak N Shake. We were excited to bring her for a tasty burger and classic shake. Our experience was not great, unfortunately. Our server was nice and she was working hard, but there were several issues. We did not bring these issues up to our server because it appeared that it was just she and one other server working at a busy time. 1. Kids were supposed to eat free all weekend (our server mentioned that when she took our orders). We were still billed for our daughter’s meal. 2. Two out of three of our shakes were room temperature, not cold at all. Not sure why that would even happen. We did not end up drinking them. 3. I ordered my burger without cheese. It came with cheese. My husband ordered his without tomato and it came with tomato. Again, our server was working hard but it seems things are lacking in the kitchen. We love Steak ‘n Shake but this wasn’t a great experience."
"Came here for a late night craving of shakes. I had their chocolate mint which hit the spot. I was surprised by the cheap menu, what happened to the booklet with pictures they used to offer? Seemed very limited! Our server was sweet and quick with the service."
"We went through the drive thru and was greeted with “go ahead” which was very unwelcoming. Then we waited in the line despite being the only car for a good bit of time only to be served cold food, the food was so cold the cheese did not even melt. The person who handed us the food was eating fries and did not say thank you or anything just continued to eat her food and chat with her coworker. That was a waste of $17 I will not be returning there……EVER."
"This is my first visit post COVID. They had a one-page paper menu instead of the large colorful multi page plastic coated menu they used to have. The servers were pleasant but it just didn't seem like the same place. Their shoestring french fries were still very good."
"Had a good visit to this location, place was clean, staff were nice, atmosphere was quiet. Definitely a place to bring the family, or have big gatherings. Food was good, so overall it was a good visit."
