Magnolia Falls Oral Surgery

"I just got surgery on short notice to remove some painfully impacted wisdom teeth, and I am SO happy that I was able to be serviced by this office. Dr. Shigley is a great surgeon! He'd never seen the inside of my mouth himself until the initial consult pre-surgery, and yet with just my X-rays and his appraisement of my mouth prior to putting me to sleep he was confidently able to fish out my partial and full bone-in wisdoms in a half hour! (which saved me on some of the cost of the IV sedation, which was great!) Their staff was wonderful, from the pleasantness of their front desk workers to their nurses. I felt very comfortable and when coming out of my sedation I was even met with music, since during surgery they were listening to it in the background. So my favorite part was literally waking up to Britney Spear's "Toxic" while I'm half-lucidly singing along and wiggling to the beat in the operating chair. It definitely set the mood for my post-op experience and I very much appreciated that, since it was my first time being IV sedated and I was a bit nervous about how I'd feel after waking up from it. They went over my home care plan with me and my family prior to me being taken home, and I genuinely felt like they cared about my recovery and maximizing my success with healing and avoiding dry socket with my non-sutured extraction. They were very fast in sending in my scripts, as well, and thus far even after the nerve blocker has run its course I'm feeling only slight tenderness. Less pain than I was in prior to surgery from the impaction, itself! If I need oral surgery again in the future I'll definitely be returning to this office and to Dr. Shigley."

"very disappointed with the service. Dr. Shigley was nice at our first appointment, but the fee was outrageous for a check up. On the day of my wisdom teeth surgery, they wanted a direct payment, which we were misinformed about, and they were angry when we didn’t have the full payment. They did not tell me what they were doing to me before I went under; and they let me leave heavily sedated. I was not given any after care instructions nor was I given a follow up appointment.The doctor did not even speak to my parent about after care. The charges for $4,000 are way over the national average. The front desk receptionist is rude to patients and it is poor service for the price. Very Disappointed"

"Dr Shigley and his assistants were awesome during extractions of impacted third molars on my 13 year old grandson! He had a lot of swelling afterwards but pain was controlled by medication very nicely. Thank you for a great experience!"
