Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview

"Great price for 1 bedroom mini apartment. Separate bedroom and pull out couch is perfect if you have kids. 9 foot ceilings make it feel bigger than the space is and there was a nice view of the marsh and bridge. The hot tub was closed which was disappointing as that would be amazing to use in February. No notice of the closing on the website when we booked. There was a large ceiling bubble from what looked like water damage and the bathroom shower area didn’t smell great but those can be overlooked for the deal of the space. It’s had to find separate rooms at this price this close to downtown."

"I enjoyed myself at this hotel. I went for a mom's getaway. Nothing over the top but the hotel was quiet, clean and cozy. The area was convenient and the front desk staff was very nice. My only complaint was the house keeper came and rang my doorbell twice at 9am when check out wasn't until 12. I should've definitely put my do not disturb on the door."

"I recently booked there on January 2, 2024 in a two bedroom Suite and found the room door opened, bathrooms had hair and the oven glass dirty of food spills after a 6 hour drive I had to clean a bathroom so my 17 month old baby would have a safe and clean bath environment. Super disappointed to the lack of follow up, my email communication was completely ignored by Assistant Manager Ramona, I’m a loyal Marriott guest, not anymore. Super surprised on this poor Marriott representation!"

"Hi, The hotel set up was very nice. However I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel rooms. I had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to no access of hot water and the room I moved into had dirty underwear in the room along with crumbs and food on the ground. I recorded a video and showed the downstairs clerk and we had to get moved to another room at 2am. The hallways were filthy and I was uncomfortable the whole stay because of how filthy the room I had previously been in was. If the rooms were upkept this would have been a perfect stay! The location was great and the quality of the room was really nice, but could have been much better if the rooms were clean."

"The issue with this particular hotel was that, despite its claim of being recently renovated, the elevator doors persistently refused to close properly, causing a rather inconvenient situation. Moreover, the hotel room, although somewhat tidy, as we ventured out, leaving our hotel room behind, the maid did not clean our room and our shower desperately needed repairs, resulting in water leaking onto part of the floor. Adding to the discomfort, the room felt incredibly cramped, with insufficient counter space despite the presence of two televisions. While this establishment bears the Marriott brand, its failure to meet Marriott's renowned standards raises doubts about their ambitious vision statement of becoming the world's favorite travel company, in contrast to other Marriott locations."
