Franklin Toyota

"I reached out about a vehicle online yesterday morning. The vehicle had not yet been detailed so pictures were limited. The staff was very courteous and responsive via text, sending me unofficial photos and the information I needed. I told them via text last night that I wanted to proceed with purchasing. I followed up by phone this morning. We had two separate calls to iron out some details. We had great conversations, and they told me they would send the paperwork. I told them I was in training meetings all day but would be working on getting the paperwork filled out. I received the paperwork via email at 12:47 PM and was working on it during my breaks. At 3:29 I received a text (which I did not see at that moment) telling me that someone else was looking at the vehicle. Twelve minutes later I received a second text telling me the vehicle was sold. It was at this point that I saw both messages for the first time. The business made no effort to call me. When I agreed to purchase the vehicle over the phone, they had set an expectation with me during our commutation that they were agreeing to sell me the vehicle, and I just needed to return the paperwork. Given that I had communicated my meeting schedule, I believed I had a reasonable amount of time to turn that paperwork around (in my mind by the end of the business day). I was completely caught off guard when I learned the vehicle had been sold out from under me. Had they set that expectation in our communication, I could have at least attempted to allocated other resources to get the paperwork filled out. I appreciate the service I initially received from the sales associate who was working with me. I won't mention his name here, because I realize the decision to sell the vehicle out from under me may not have been his decision."
