"Best Direct Shipping's contractor damaged my vehicle. I made an insurance claim. My insurance Company sued them and has a judgement against but they refuse to pay it. In the meantime I am out $500 deductible which means I paid an additional $500 to transport my vehicle. When I reported damage to Best Direct, despite promises to the contrary they never returned any of my calls. Every time I called before hiring them they called me back immediately. Be informed."

"5-19-2018 These guys are compete rip off artist! Gave them a $175 deposit for a car pickup and they never sent a truck to pick up my car. They also stopped answering my calls and emails when things weren't happening. I dealt with Jim Powers, AKA JP, a smooth talking New Yorker who promised a lot and delivered nothing. I'm now in the process of trying to get my money back via the Better Business Bureau of New York. I have no idea how these guys are allowed to run a business like this? 6-9-2018 After countless emails and phone calls to get a refund for services that were not fulfilled by BDS, Jim Powers and the company have taken the position NOT to communicate with me. ZERO response to my refund requests have forced me to contact the Better Business bureau to get some action. DO NOT SEND THIS COMAPANY ANY MONEY for any service! The Merrick Police department will be notified at the end of the month if I do not receive my refund."

"UPDATE: called and contacted the "Customer Service Team" at given number and left two messages. No call back, of course. This company is a complete scam. Best Direct Shipping doesn't even deserve a one star rating but you're forced by Google to make a selection in order to have a post published. This company is a complete scam. Do not use them. They will take your deposit money and do nothing about actually getting your car shipped. I communicated with one man, Jim Powers, from the company the entire time. We set a price and a pickup time window about a week and a half ahead of time. The pickup window was from Tuesday at 8 AM to Thursday at 8 AM. I was moving across the country for a job and would be flying in that Saturday night and told that my car would be waiting at my new apartment for me upon my arrival. I was also told that I would be given a call from the driver 24 hours ahead of pickup. After not hearing from anyone by Tuesday night, I called Best Direct Shipping just to confirm that we were still on schedule for a Saturday delivery. No one picked up so I left a voicemail. I received a call back later that night ensuring me that everything was still on schedule for the delivery and but my call might come from the driver would be coming more likely 2 hours before pickup. Then came Thursday at 9 AM. No call from anyone, no pickup. I called Jim at both the NY and NV numbers we had been communicating on, left messages at both, and finally got a call back from him about 20 minutes later. By this time, I had finally realized that I was most likely being scammed after having read some of the Best Direct reviews on the internet. He told me that there were not really any drivers in my area (MT) but again tried to assure me that I would have my car picked up by the end of the day on Thursday and that it would also arrive by Saturday. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me he was the only one there. I immediately started looking for other shipping companies and spent a lot of time reading the reviews for each one I found, having learned a serious lesson from my truly horrible experience with Best Direct Shipping. After I found one that all the reviews seemed to say good things about (Ship A Car Direct) I called Jim at both numbers. He did not pick up and so I left voicemails at both lines canceling my service with him (as if I even needed to at that point) and demanding a refund for my $240 deposit and also emailed saying the same. I never received a call back from Jim but did receive an email (see picture). I have made numerous attempts to contact Jim and Best Direct Shipping at both of their numbers. I have left voicemails and written emails but haven't heard a word back from them. Do not waste your time with this company, please. I understand that they made get it right for some people, but in my case they choose to rip off a kid that was moving across the country for her first real job out of grad school."

"Hello, This past summer I was in need of a transport company to ship a Jeep out west to my vacation property. This is not my first experience shipping a vehicle and how it usually works is by doing an online quote. Within minutes you will receive quotes from brokers that will give you an estimate and then handle finding a trucking company to transport your vehicle. On July 22,2017 I did an online quote and within a few minutes Jim Powers called me from Best direct shipping, His price was very reasonable and he also seemed very polite and knowledgeable. I told him I would be in touch when I was ready to ship. August 8th I called him and we set up the transaction. I paid him in full in the amount of $1099. He gave me my ship dates of Aug 9-16th. He stressed many times that it would probably be picked up in a few days and highly unlikely it would take more than 7 days to find a trucking company. After a few days and hearing nothing I reached out to Jim. He promised me it would be picked up very soon and again that it would be no later than August 16th. As it approached that date I began researching his company and realized I have been most likely taken advantage of. On or about Aug 15th I received a voicemail without my phone actually ringing. Apparently there is an app to somehow perform this if you don't actually want to talk to the person. The person addressed himself as John from best direct shipping dispatch. He said he was working on getting my Jeep picked up the following day. John Sounded identical to Jim and by now I was convinced this is truly a scam. I'm convinced Jim is the only person that runs Best Direct shipping. Both phone numbers that I have go to Jim's voicemail and by Aug 14th he will not return my calls. He only responded by email at this point. Once I realized I have been taken advantage of I called e-ship transport. They found a car carrier for my route and had the driver at my house within a couple hours , Jeep loaded and on its way. Keep in mind this is happening at the same time Jim / John told me they haven't been able to find a truck driver for my route yet. So now that it went past Jim's deadline of Aug 16th We discussed over email the refund. Jim was going to keep a service fee of $150 also a deposit fee of $200 and refund me the balance of $749 on his next payroll day which would have been Friday Aug. 25th. Of coarse that came and went. Aug 28th I filed a complaint with the BBB . Jim emailed me to cancel the complaint because he wont be able to issue me a refund with BBB "freezing" the refund. That seemed off to me so I contacted the BBB and they told me they don't do that. I emailed Jim that information and he then promised to send the refund once again on his next payroll day which brings us to Sept 22. Of coarse that came and went now. At this point in time Jim does not respond to countless emails, phone calls or voice-mails. I feel Jim has a great scam company going. He under quotes his competition to secure your business, then when no trucker will work with him due to either his track record or lack of payment Jim will then keep at minimum! a service fee , a deposit , or in my case the full cost of shipping a vehicle for not providing any type of service. I am willing to testify under oath if you bring this individual to justice. Thank you in advance for taking the time in reading this."
