"My first experience with the Kingston Branch was as a non-customer. I called to ask if I could redeem savings bonds without an account. I was told that I could, and informed as to what I would need to bring with me. When I first walked in to the branch, I was amazed at how different it was from every other bank I had ever visited. - I was greeted with a smile and a "Hello! How are you today?" - Missing was the velvet rope-lined maze to enter and wait. - I was called directly to the teller line with an "I can help you right here!" I explained that I had called about redeeming bonds, and was told the information they needed to get started. The whole process of adding a profile to the bank's system and redeeming my bonds took less than 5 minutes. As someone who has worked in various forms of customer service throughout my working life, it takes a lot to impress me. I was thoroughly impressed with the excellent service I received - so much so that several months later when I was looking for additional employment, I applied when I saw BOGC was hiring.
