"Asked them to rebuild in ground pool, plus new fence and new deck. After signing the contract in May 2021, we were told that the materials were not available; when they finally did come in early 2023, they already wanted more money from us for “inflation”. We agreed to an additional amount less than what they asked for, from there things seemed to go downhill. The contract indicated a bottom drain but they did not provide; instead they said the 2 skimmers was better even tho we didn’t want that. We asked for a natural gas heater, they said we should use electric heater instead as we had solar panels on the house. After ordering the electric heater, he wanted us to pay $4k to run electric service to the heater, but yet would not give a credit back to us for not doing any of the installation work or piping for the gas heater. Every time there was an issue, they did what was convenient for them to solve the issue instead of consulting with us. They said they would obtain all permits, but never built the gates for the fence properly; which affected us being able to get the certificate of completion from the Town. We also had to re-do the variance with the Town Zoning Board as they built the pool outside the location provided for zoning variance. Lastly, they left the project by leaving a mound of concrete and rock debris in the area where they worked and simply tried to throw seed and straw over it; obviously no grass ever grew and we had to re-grade and re-seed it ourselves. More recently, the Vinyl liner started pulling off the wall this month, less than 1 year after installation; I asked him to have someone take a look at it, his response was simply “find someone local” Owner is a terrible communicator and only looking out for his own interest. Pool workers were friendly with us but didn’t have answers to our questions and referred to owner. DO NOT make the mistake that we did; spent over $100k for the pool, fence, and deck and had to spend endless hours and more $$$ to finish the work ourselves. Owner has zero respect for the people who are paying for his services; so he does not deserve your work or your money."
