"We moved in to our new home in Melville a little over a year ago and quickly learned that the backyard patio was nearly unusable in the summer because it was soaked in the sun and extremely hot all day. After doing some research online, we contacted Gary Duff Designs and hired them immediately after meeting the owner, Gary, and his son Adam. With their guidance, we decided to install a brand new, louvered Pergola from Azenco, a custom outdoor fireplace, and we also made some other enhancements to our backyard landscaping. Gary, Adam, his other son Eric, and the rest of the crew transformed our backyard and we absolutely love it. We love the Azenco Pergola because we can adjust the amount of sunlight leaking through the pergola at any time, with the push of a button. It is truly the best of both worlds. With the pergola and the fireplace, our patio went from an unusable space to a serene, outdoor living area. Once the television was mounted on the fireplace, it was hard to get our kids inside. Our experience with Gary Duff Designs was outstanding. We were a little uncertain at first with how exactly to address the shade issue in the backyard and how much of our patio to cover with the pergola, but Gary and Adam helped us navigate that decision in a way that made us feel very comfortable. We ended up covering more of the patio with the pergola than we initially envisioned and we are very glad that we did. In addition, I happened to be working from home while the work was being done, and it was amazing to see how neat and efficient the work was performed, from the delivery of the materials to the care and respect of the crew. Gary and his sons closely oversaw the work and made sure to keep us informed about any issues and elicit our opinions when appropriate. Finally, even after the project was complete, Gary and his son Adam returned many times to make minor adjustments to the pergola, sometimes months later. Gary Duff Designs is first-rate at what they do, and we would happily recommend them for any kind of landscape design. We would also recommend a louvered Azenco Pergola to anyone looking to add shade to their backyard with as much versality as possible."

"Gary Duff and Team did a fantastic job for us on our driveway and front steps entrance to our home. We have a rather long driveway and there were some challenging issues to the project. Gary reassured us he would take care of everything. He did everything he said he would and then some. He went above and beyond in all ways. Gary made some suggestions to what we we had in mind that made things even better than our plan. He encountered some unforeseen problems. One was with the sprinkler system that required him to coordinate with the sprinkler company. Which he did in a positive, easy to work with cooperative manner. Our sprinkler person actually complimented us on how pleasant and flexible Gary was to work with. When Gary found some structural issues with the existing front steps he addressed them confidently and kept the project moving forward smoothly. Gary was always available for us and often stopped by just to check on things. We never felt out of the loop. He worked with us to find the right start date of the work. And he finished things on schedule. At the end of every day Gary and his workers had everything neat, organized and put away for the next day. We highly highly recommend Gary and his team of merry workers (they were all very pleasant and easy to work with). We appreciate everything he and his people did for us. The work didn’t just get done, it got done well and looks beautiful! More than we could have asked or imagined! Gary Duff has become a friend as well. Thank you Gary!"
