About the Business

Thornden Park Pool

Thornden Park Pool is a recreational facility located on Thornden Park Drive in Syracuse, New York. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities at local parks and recreational facilities, including the pool. In addition to swimming, visitors can also find information on how to pay for parking fines, water bills, and request extension or installment plans. The institution also provides information to help visitors prepare for the winter months and lookup yard waste pick-up schedules to never miss a trash day.

Furthermore, the Syracuse Cultural Festivals Fund has awarded $135,000 to 22 festivals in the city, supporting non-profit community groups in delivering cultural and celebratory events. The city government will be open for all services on April 8 during a total solar eclipse, with officials preparing for a large influx of visitors to the region.

Additionally, the institution is currently accepting applications for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative Main Street Facade Improvement Program and requesting proposals for the Inner Harbor Park redesign. Public notices and announcements are also regularly posted for upcoming events and community initiatives, such as Proud Places - Butternut planning meetings to improve the Butternut Street Neighborhood.

"FREE entry! Decently sized pool. I went today, a Sunday 77°F and there were maybe 40 people there. Didn't feel too crowded as I was just swimming laps. There is a separate section for lap swimmers, so I was happy about that. There is nowhere to lock away your belongings and there aren't any seating areas. If you want to lay out in the sun, you lay flat on your towel on the concrete."

"The large, clean swimming pool has many swimming areas with different depths for adults and children. There is a drum set for children to explore the sounds. Security guards observe a lot. You can relax in the water with peace of mind. The space is open and airy to see clouds and green trees, the sun is hot but not hot. I love this place."

"I love the different depth sections, and there is even a section for those that want to do laps. It's organized to make your swim enjoyable. I go every Saturday with my kids."

"TOTALLY FREE Just 1 of Syracuse's large public pools This pool was converted to a Salt Water pool prior to opening this year. What a tremendous improvement. No more Chlorine smell, or irritated eyes. Open them underwater and feel NOTHING afterwards I'm slightly prejudiced towards this pool because it's within walking distance from my home Easy to get to location with a friendly staff, considerate patrons, and plenty of free parking plus grassy spaces adjacent for picnics etc. Thornden Park is well known throughout the city of Syracuse due to its well maintained rose garden, outdoor theater, recreational courts and field spaces, accessibility, and location just to the east of the main campus of Syracuse University. The pool is a major jewel in this gem of a great public park"
