About the Business

The Lake County YMCA Outdoor Family Center is a health and park institution located at 4540 River Road in Perry, Ohio. Our mission is to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We offer a variety of programs and services, including camp counselors, lifeguards, pre/post camp child care, sports instructors, and more. "We love the Y, and were so excited to be back for the first time since Covid struck! Unfortunately, nobody told us, and it wasn't posted anywhere, that they were closing 2 hrs early. We paid full price for a short time. Very inconsiderate. Other visitors were trying walking to the desk as we were leaving. It definitely was not known they were closing early. We'd packed a cookout and planned a whole pool day. Huge bummer. They should have at least reduced the admission price and TOLD US what was happening!"

"Outdoor YMCA great for Step2 Kid Playgrounds, Youth Swim, Adult Swim. Basketball,Soccer, Nature Walking & more. Great place for nb-5yo swim area. 5-10yo swim area. Two water slides for children & adults. 2 Additional in pool rock climbing walls! Don't worry about bringing stacks yet most people do there is a snack bar. Reasonably priced for the whole family!!"

"Pool area is nice and big. They have the main pool, which goes up to 5ft. The deep pool has two rock walls to climb, but kids need to take a swim test before they try the rock wall because the water goes to 12.6ft deep. Kids can go down the twisty slide, which is either 3 or 4 ft deep. There’s also a shallow pool with a bunch of waterfalls and a slide. They have a kiddie pool as well, where the water is about shin deep, and the water is super warm. And during the 15 min breaks, there’s a playground with multiple slides and monkey bars to keep the kids occupied until the lifeguards blow the whistle to swim again. I believe the hours are 11-7. Concession stand does not have much, but you are allowed to bring your own food & drinks in. Plenty of picnic areas with shade. Great day out!"

"They do a nice job keeping it fun and clean. My kids love it. The different pools for different depths helps keep the little ones safe. I wish there was more grass to lay out. Some of the rules change from guard to guard which confuses the kids but overall a nice place and rarely too packed to enjoy."

"What a cool place for kids! They had waterslides, over-the -water rock walls, splash pad, a separate baby pool, and even a smaller and shallow little kids area with a tiny waterslide. We packed a picnic and it was a great day! There was even an area to play in outside of the pool that was super shaded. The kids had fun!"
