"As someone who isn't of Chinese or Asian descent, I recently found myself in a situation where my proficiency in using chopsticks became a reason for the from desk guy and parents the owner a reason to laugh about. While it's easy to dismiss this as mere immaturity, I believe there's a deeper issue at play one that revolves around cultural understanding and respect. Imagine being in a foreign country, perhaps running a small shop. A visitor walks in, demonstrating knowledge of your culture and its customs. Wouldn't you feel honored? I certainly would. It's a sign of genuine interest and respect for the local way of life. Chopsticks, seemingly simple utensils, actually require considerable skill. The delicate balance between fingers and hands, the precision needed to pick up food, it's an art form. I've been learning how to use chopsticks, not just because of my partner, but also as a way to express love and respect for their heritage! Yet, in my own context, this seemingly innocuous act has been met with ridicule. It's disheartening to realize that some places aren't conducive to practicing something as seemingly "trivial" as using chopsticks. But perhaps therein lies an opportunity for change—a chance to foster greater understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity. So, let's celebrate the little things, the way we hold chopsticks, the nuances of our gestures and recognize that they're not just about food; they're about connection, respect, and shared experiences."

"Great value for your buck especially in Long Island City. I had the pork and pepper dish with noodles and medium spicy level. You definitely get a lot of noodles and meats in the dish and the spicy level was just perfect. Although I prefer a slightly thicker and drier noodle, all the ingredients paired well with each other."

"Quick local Hunan style eatery. Super clean the staff were very friendly. A couple of months back I was around the area and desperately needed help. They were kind and friendly and didn't hesitate to help me, which did take me a back. I said to myself if I was ever in that area I would try the food. I am sooo glad that I did. It was a quick bite of shrimp and pork dumplings and fried string beans soooo tasty and the dumplings perfect! I tried a plum juice which was food then I saw how much sugar it had, yikes! Overall loved the meal and the easy vibe."

"Keepin it real out here in the part of LIC with nothing going on It's a great clean spot for food with great customer service. The interior is very modern and minimalistic. The food can get spicy depends on what you order and is pretty good overall. Great addition to that part of LIC since there isn't much going on other than the few luxury rental buildings."

"Was looking for a place to have dinner and spotted this place right by the train station. Looked clean and new inside. Ordered the Bamboo shoots with pork and dry noodles, stewed beef with rice, and the sour and spicy cucumber salad. This place reminded me of when I lived in China, especially the pickled vegetables my mom would buy and use in home cooked dishes. Loved it. Would definitely come back. Also has my favorite herbal tea and plum juice."
