"NAM-MYO-HO-RENGE-KYO Nam comes from the Sanskrit word namas, which was translated in Chinese and Japanese as meaning “to dedicate one’s life.” “Dedication,”when dedicated to this principle, our lives become based on wisdom that perceives that truth and functions in response to any changing circumstance. Myo can be translated as mystic or wonderful, and ho means law. This law is called mystic because it is difficult to comprehend. What exactly is it that is difficult to comprehend? It is the wonder of ordinary people, beset by delusion and suffering, awakening to the fundamental law in their own lives, bringing forth wisdom and compassion and realizing that they are inherently Buddhas able to solve their own problems and those of others. The Mystic Law transforms the life of anyone—even the unhappiest person, at any time and in any circumstances—into a life of supreme happiness. Renge, meaning lotus blossom, is a metaphor that offers further insight into the qualities of this Mystic Law. The lotus flower is pure and fragrant, unsullied by the muddy water in which it grows. Similarly, the beauty and dignity of our humanity is brought forth amidst the sufferings of daily reality."
"Beautiful park for 2 to 3 to 4. But this park is kinda exclusive for U.N. people that live there, if you wanna see real princesses go to the dog run across the street. Some Beautiful women here but do not speak to them, they have diplomatic immunity."
"This park I’m always impeccably clean and well kept, unfortunately there is the expectation of the men’s bathroom where taxi drivers use as a pit stop and leave its facilities disgusting. It seems like the person who maintains the park does the best they can and it is reflected in the women’s bathroom and the rest of the park as well. It’s a shame that nothing is being done to keep disgusting taxi drivers with no respect or regard for a children park out of this playground."
"I played here as a child in 1979 -1980 and to tell you honestly it seems like it has not lost its beautiful essence and simplistic charm. Makes my heart all warm and fuzzy knowing it still exists.."
"As a guy bringing the family along for a work trip in NYC - You couldn’t honestly ask for a better park in midtown - low-key, has everything a kid would want to play with and is not too far from anything and everything. Bathroom, water sprinkler, huge slide, swings, sandlot with toys! And decent sized jungle gym."
