"I went to Vassar Brother Medical Center for emergency visit for my son. I had the worst experience possible. Even though I have a private insurance that cost a lot, since last year I been faced with over $1500 of medical bills. First, they work with Mobile life support ambulance service that doesn’t take any insurance. For 3 miles ride the ambulance billed us for close to $1100, Second, after being accepted at the emergency room the first thing they asked was the insurance id card. We handed in the insurance card and they send in the doctor that does not take our insurance, and billed us for the entire visit. Later on, I called the hospital to discuss this issue, one of their operators picked up the phone and they transferred my call to the patient service representative. I left a voice mail on her phone asking to get back to me as soon as possible. They never responded back to me."
