"The child care center has major staffing issues and is constantly looking for people to not attend that day, closing classrooms for the day or 1/2 day. They have no regard for the consistency a family needs so they can work. They are also very expensive."

"Excellent, flexible, & courteous daycare. Everyone absolutely loved and cared so well for our son. He loved his teachers. If the need arises again we will definitely be taking our son back."

"We’ve had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kindercare Penfield. I can’t say enough about the teachers and the care my two girls have received. They love going to school and have so much more self esteem than I ever had at that age. I’ll be sad when this stage of life is over."

"I am writing my review in response to Mary Tamargo's statements. I know of Mary through Kindercare..our children were in the same class. I have witnessed a couple of the situations she is referencing and they did not occur the way she states. I have found Penfield Kindercare to be an amazing environment for my child. His teacher is a great teacher and obviously loves all the children in her class. In fact, he moved to Preschool 4 months ago and he still runs to her room first thing in the morning to give her a hug. She is loving towards all of the children in her class and I have never seen her put her daughter before her class. In fact, her daughter has never been in her class....except for very early in the morning when the school first opens. When her daughter's teacher arrives soon after...she goes to her own classroom. I know this because I have dropped off my son to her classroom numerous times when this is going on. She claims that the teachers at Penfield Kindercare do not want to be "bothered with potty training"...that is definitely NOT the case. They work diligently with the parents to ensure that each child is progressing on his/her own "schedule". Due to my son having been in the same class...I am aware of some of the things his teacher did to help Mary's son in the potty training process...through my observations when in the room. Her child had his own potty in the class baathroom...I know this because I have witnessed Mary in the bathroom when her son...while she attempts to get him to go potty. My son wanted to go potty at drop-off one morning and was unable too because she was in there with her son. The child was crying...he was trying to get up off the potty...and she was telling him he had to sit down. He was clearly not interested in potty training at that moment. With my experience potty training my child and my other 2 children..."forcing" a child to potty train only hinders their progress. I understand that if this is her first child...that she might not be aware of that fact. His teacher did send home to all the chidren's parents..potty training tips to help us in the process. I am also aware that her son was having numerous accidents within the classroom. My son was very vocal about this child having peed on the carpet and on the floor. I even observed first hand...his teacher encouraging this child to go to the potty...and he sat down on the floor to pee. Again, normal during the potty training process but also signs that he was not yet ready to begin potty training. He had just turned 2 years old and not all 2 year olds are ready for potty training. I spoke with the Director about my concerns about the sanitary aspect of the situation. She was very understanding and assured me she was working with the family to ensure all children's needs...including Mary's son...were being met. I understand that children who are potty training will have accidents, however, when a child is showing signs he is not ready for potty training...that creates a sanitation issue for the other children. Also, my son's own potty training was hindered...after he witnessed this boy being made to sit on the potty by his Mother. I asked him once why he wouldn't sit on the potty...his response was..."Timmy(not the child's real name) doesn't like the potty. He screams and cries.". Despite, all of this...the Lead Teacher was extremely understanding...patient...encouraging...and loving. She truly cares about all of the children in her class and wants all of them to succeed. It was stated in the review that children at Penfield Kindercare go to the bathroom unattended...that is not the case. My son is always accompanied when he does go to the potty to ensure his safety and to help assist him in the training process. The above review upsets my greatly because it is 100% not true that his teacher did not care for the children in her class...or want to to assist in potty training. My son has been at the school for over a year and it is because of her that he loves learning!!"

"This Daycare is a joke. The images you see on this page are paid images. These are not images from the actual daycare. Don't be fooled. It has got to be one of the most poorly managed centers I have seen. My son attended here for 5 months...and I regret leaving him there as long as I did. It's very clear that this center has cash flow and staffing issues. The center is poorly staffed and managed. Director is constantly rotating staff in and out of the rooms causing confusion to the children and parents because of the inconsistencies. All of the teachers have their kids enrolled in center and since there are staffing issues and classes are combined, staff rotated daily, moms and kids end up in the same classes together on a daily basis. Leaving the rest of the children poorly unattended. Teachers/Director do not want to deal with potty training. The potty training policy at this center is a joke, it's a let's find an excuse to put your kid in a diaper policy. I picked up my son several times to find him in diapers even though I specifically requested staff not to. I found my child playing outdoors and the teacher did not take him to the potty and he was wet and in urinated clothes for at least 30 min. The reason I know this is because his clothes had already started drying, but his shoes were still covered in urine. Guess where his lead teacher was...playing with her daughter!!! When I talked to the Director about leaving the center, all of sudden she said they were dis-enrolling him because of all the issues. Yeah your staff can't handle kids potty training and I threatened her I would file a compliant with OCFS. She talked and acted like it was my son's fault that he couldn't use the potty independently at 2 years old. That's why it's called potty TRAINING! What's amazing is his new center has not had any issues with his potty training and they don't send him to the potty by himself. He is always accompanied by an adult. That's not the case at Penfield Kindercare. There's so much more. But I don't have the time to write a book about all the problems this center has."
