Reviews
"I have had both my children enrolled here since they were 3 months old. They have done an absolutely outstanding job. I get photos throughout the day of my kids playing with their school fiends, doing arts and crafts, reading, playing instruments, singing, doing yoga, and so much more. The staff is super helpful."
"Very happy we decided to enroll our daughter in her important first years in The Goddard School Upper West Side. She learned, sang, danced, made friends, had a great time and was in good hands. Everyday she was excited and happy to go to her school, she barely complained or said she didn’t want go. We really would like to thank every Staff member at the Goddard School who took time to guide her, nourish her, teach her and show her a fun way of Learning. We definitely recommend it !"
"The Goddard School has been an amazing environment for my 3.5 year old son. We started him at the school right before his 2nd birthday and he has thrived in the last year and a half. I met Sandra, the Executive Director, at a childcare fair and because of her, was immediately was interested in the school for my son. Sandra is warm, approachable and genuinely interested in my philosophy as a parent. After touring the school, I felt lucky that we secured a spot and have been thrilled with the teachers. They are smart, interactive and caring, and my son quickly became attached to many of them as he progressed through the different rooms (based on age/ability) at the school. We have had several 1:1 meetings with Sandra, Dr. Bill, and other administrators since he started and every time, they have listened to our questions and responded with helpful and insightful answers based on our child's individual needs. It amazes me how well they know my son and his personality, likes and areas for improvement. I greatly value their input on his progression, and they have moved him through the classrooms at the right "speed." We are starting to think about the kindergarten application process and what schools would be a good fit for our son. Sandra holds your hand through the entire process - we recently met with her and she gave us fantastic leads for potential schools. The most impressive part was she listed schools giving the reasons she thought our son would excel there. Again, the teachers and administrators are so in tune with your child's specific qualities and it shows in every interaction. A great perk is the school also holds a "date night" evening for parents a few times each year where you can leave your child at school after hours and they play and have a pizza party. I trust my son with very few people and this makes a great night out for my husband and me as we know he is safe with teachers he loves. I don't believe there is a better "education" for pre-schoolers than the Goddard School."
"Our son attended the Goddard School on Broadway for 3 years and, at least in part due to the education he received at Goddard, got into a very good K-8 program (he also did very nicely on the G & T exam). The teachers he has had over the past year have been excellent and have worked with him on confidence, fine tuning graphomotor skills, focus, and becoming more out-going. The education/outplacement director, Ms. Lugo, was extremely helpful and always friendly/supportive during the difficult K-8 application process. The facilities/activities are quite good and very clean- most of the classrooms have large windows overlooking the street.and there is a nice variety of activities. Schedules can be flexible in terms of days of the week and students enroll by the month. Overall our son had a very good experience and learned and developed greatly."
"“I like the passion of the staff , the interaction and interest that Dr. Swan and Sandra take in listing to the parents, any concerns and addressing them in a timely fashion. My son has really gown in his social and verbal skills since he started school and I am grateful for that.”"
