"My daughter has attended grade school here for 6+ years. The new Principal is handling difficult times admirably. The teachers we have met are all very good. No complaints."

"I'm currently in the 18-19 school year and I would like to say that the eight grade English teacher plays favorites and is not fair what so ever. My experience in St. Rose of Lima would be amazing if my grades would not drop pointlessly in my writing assignments. It seems she has an attitude towards me specifically unlike the other students and treats me differently than others. I favor the other teachers much better as they seem to treat everybody the same, as my friends also agree."

"My son went to a public school until 5th grade. I thought they were great, even though they rarely had homework. But he seemed to always be happy, until one day he was bullied and they did nothing. They didnt even tell me. he told me with tears. Thank God a really tall friend stood up against the bullies and helped him. They were best friends after that. Other than that one incident, all was well. One day we moved to a different neighborhood and I chose to put him in St Rose of Lima. The first year was so difficult for all of us. I was overwhelmed and shocked that there was so much homework at his age, and everything was so difficult. That's when I realized he was never taught to go above and beyond, to study harder, to be prepared for high school work load, to do cursive, etc. We all chipped in together to help with homework and studying to bring him "up to par." 6th grade was insane. The teachers were understanding and one teacher gifted him a cursive book so he can practice. His second year we were already accustomed to that rigorous workload and everything seemed miraculously easier. That year, someone bullied him on the bus and the school stopped it immediately, after I reported it, even though it happened off school property. The Principal at this school is amazing! Sister Kathleen is loved by both the faculty and all the students. She truly cares about these kids and she gives 100%. The church of St Rose is just as amazing. I feel so blessed that I was able to be a part of the St Rose family. They focus on kindness, faith, and how to be humble. They are focused on all the old school values and they don't let you get away with bad behavior. I can go on forever. This school made it possible for my son to go to one of the best High Schools in Long Island. Thank you St Rose! They made his future a little brighter. Its hard to sum it all up- but on my sons first day of school (6th grade), I asked him how he liked it versus his public school. He replied: "Is there anything better than love? because if there is- that's how much!" Those classmates are still best friends with him today and they are good to each other. They are all like brothers. As a proud parent, I highly recommend this school to anyone that believes in hard work ethics, respect and a life that puts faith first. These are some of the things to know about St Rose of Lima, Massapequa: 1. They have Small Class Sizes 2. 100% acceptance rate into Catholic High Schools 3. Upper School Program to prepare students for Catholic High School Entrance Exam 4. The State assessments only administered in grades 4, 6, and 8 5. Rigorous coursework that imparts a strong foundation for success in high school, college, and beyond 6. Strong academic programs with an emphasis in reading, essay writing, and public speaking 7. Project-based, hands-on learning in mathematics and science State-of-the-art technology including: Smartboards, iPads, Chromebooks, Apple and PC computer labs 8. Morals and values are instilled via daily Religious instruction 9. Emphasis on community service"
