"The service was prompt. However, there seems to be little regard for subjecting patients to unnecessary duplicative radiation. While the facility touts its "new" tomosynthesis breast cancer screening, it also sneaks in the old 2-dimensional x-ray. Since tomosynthesis results in a slightly higher radiation exposure than traditional 2D imaging, taking both subjects the patient to over double the radiation for no reason. And because it is entirely possible to synthesize the 2D image from the images already taken with the tomograph, only two possible justifications come to mind: that the facility is somehow incompetent in synthesizing the 2D images, or that it wants higher insurance reimbursements."
